I would also guess it's shot. I run a 130amp 3G ford alternator on mine. The gm three wire is good too.

Nah just kidding our weather has been so crappy and we're both dying to go out and test his boat out for the first time. Just giving him a hard time, I need someone to help me color sand the side of my boat and fordlover keeps saying he's "busy"...

So tonight fordlover started up his boat because he was sad the site was down... Revved it to like 8k and blew it up. Sad day. Now he has to ride in my whale.

Should have way more power now. You took the iron ballast weight out.

I would keep the Ford close by.  At least until you can get to the men's store and pick up some men's clothing. The culture shock may be a little rough on you.

Hahahaha. ...

Hahaha that's some funny stuff there!

I was just inside and heard it start getting a little windy so I went to go look outside only to see my Scout getting filled up with water. Maybe I should have installed a bilge pump in that beast haha.

We should be going out soon I hope!

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: 460 ford ring gap

It also can depend on the engine, blower, nitrous, etc..

I used .0050 x bore size for my top ring and .0055 x bore size for the second ring. I ran Hastings moly rings and it's just an n/a deal. Also remember to measure the side clearance, and back clearance as well to make sure everything is fitting right.

I think I've seen pictures of that boat before on taylorboatroost a few years back when I found mine. Excited to see what you end up doing with it and it's good to have another Stiletto guy on here!

It's a 460 .40 over, pretty mild cam, dove c heads. Not sure what it's putting out, last time I had it out was doing 5k and about 60mph was the first time I had it out on the new motor though. Going to make a few adjustments and see what those do. Running an A impeller.

Mines just all white now. At one point in its life it was the same as yours but where yours has red mine was yellow. Same wood grain patterns though.

Check it out here if you want to see the pictures.

O'reillys sells the Holley brand kits, best price I can find in town too and only like 4 bucks more than ordering straight from Holley.

Was awesome to finally go out to the lake and to finally have my boat done!!! Super excited for the summer now! Still have a little tinkering here and there to do to get it where I want but overall it runs strong and without any major problems.

Big thanks to my buddy fordlover for coming out with me to make sure everything was running right and bringing along some food haha

More pics to come after I give it a good bath and do a bit of shining up.

It's pretty straight forward, you'll see as you take it apart. Take some pictures so you know. You'll need a clutch head screwdriver to take off the secondary metering plate. You can also get away with using a flat head screwdriver if you grind it down just right to fit.

Also the rebuild kit doesn't come with a new diaphragm for the vac secondaries. I like to replace that too when I rebuild. It's about 10 bucks at the parts store.

If it's really bad inside you'll probably have to soak it for a day or so in carb cleaner.

Taking her out tomorrow! Think it's finally ready to get a little wet!

Unfortunately my new interior isn't going to be ready this season so I'll have to run the old stuff. It's not in terrible shape but it's not the easiest on the eyes.

lol .. checked Web site .. camp fires are only allowed in there camp rings and bbq and tables come with camp site .

Along these lines...if those that are interested in going want to post up a list of must haves, that would help us find the best possible site to accommodate is and make sure we ask all the right questions.

Where is Rolling lake, what's it like?

Between Grass Valley and Colfax. Awesome foothills lake, really good camping, and great glass mornings for a loud rip across the lake.

The Sacramento Delta seems appealing to me. Anyone know of a place that's quiet , serene there. Something far away for the main channel.

The delta is pretty fun down by Rio Vista, lots of channels to go explore and some good restaurants. Overall it's pretty quite down there once you get out a bit.

The No Wake Zone / Re: What did you do to your boat today?
« on: March 29, 2016, 08:38:39 PM »
Put the engine back in after changing the pan the other day, glassed the fuel tank back in, and finished up all my electrical. Just a few odds and ends left to do.
