They said one of the boats didnt have their lights on. All bad knowing how dark the river is after sundown. We were just at the Avi the weekend before and you cannot see anything past the bridge after sundown.

I had the same deal with my JF pump. Cable slid out too far and tore up the new boot. I know there’s supposed to be a white nylon ring around the cable Inside that disc but the cable does still slide. Just have to clamp the boot where it can move lock to lock freely. The boot is the main seal. And the nylon ring is the backup but will leak a bit if the boot is torn. On mine anyway. Haha. Hope that helps.

Pics are golden. Haha. Well it’s definitely easy with basic tools either way but looks like the cable still mite be ok. Looks like you just need a new cable end coupling. I would try that first before pulling the trigger on a new cable. If you do go that route just take note how it’s routed and measure the length so the new one matches. You’ll find it pretty easy

Most are on the transom but yes you can always change it. Racers have them in the side so they can feel the temp and flow.

« on: October 24, 2016, 03:05:31 PM »what did u attached hoist to on engine? Not a bad idea . I've been thinking of ways and this looks pretty simple.
FIRST I HAD A CHAIN AROUND THE INTAKE HOUSING NEAR THE BELLHOUSING, BUT THEN I WRAPPED THE CHAIN AROUND THE LOG TO GIVE IT MORE ANGLE AND IT WORKED OUT GREAT. THEN UP FRONT I WRAPPED A TOWEL AROUND A 4X4 AND RAN IT ACROSS THE LIP OF THE BOTTOM OF THE BOAT WITH A FLOOR JACK. YOU CAN BANG ON THE BODY AND HEAR A GOOD THUD WHERE ITS NICE AND THICK WHERE YOU WANT TO LIFT FROM
