I used the comp cams rollers
Called clay smith and told him what I had and he made a camshaft for me. Itís awesome.
Speed pro flat top pistons give me 9.2:1 with worked over D3VE heads port matched with a weiand stealth intake. Stock crank. Pushes an Agressor AB cut to 51-5200 with a quick fuel 850. Not sure what the HP is but Iím guessing close to 500.

Call Dooley. Theyíre super cool and easy to work with. They built a custom oil pan for me at the same price as their production pans.

I totally rebuilt my boat myself and would not have been able to do it without this site. I think most of the people with the real knowledge are still here. I do follow the Facebook group but I agree that it is full of a bunch of turds.

Interior / Re: cleaning and conditioning white vinyl interior
« on: August 30, 2017, 07:23:23 AM »
The white interior on my boat is showing it's age and holding dirt in the texture of the vinyl.  I was talking to a friend of mine who uses "Performance Boat Candy" vinyl clean and vinyl condition.  I have not used it myself yet.  What are some opinions on this product....is it worth the $$?  At $45 for 2 bottles, it would be nice to hear more experiences with it.  Anything else out there that works as well/better at a lower cost?  Thanks in advance.
This one works well for me.

WTB / Jet o vator steering tube bearing
« on: August 14, 2017, 11:25:04 PM »
Hey guys. Looking for an old school steering tube bearing for a jetovator. Mine finally cracked in half. Wanted to see if anyone on here had an old one laying around they want to sell.
I found them on the berkeleys site but they want $100 for them. It's a small piece of plastic and I'm having trouble paying $100 for one.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Fuel pump overflow tube
« on: August 10, 2017, 11:39:39 AM »
I bought a new spark arrestor that does not have a provision for the tube that runs from the marine fuel pump. Is it ok to hook it up to an empty vacuum port on the carb or is that a bad idea?

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / ford 460 only turns 4500rpm
« on: August 04, 2017, 08:49:44 PM »
Loader? What RPM?

I doubt seriously you will have an issue. How old of an Aggressor?
I'm not sure yet. Haven't had time to test the new motor. Maybe next week. It's an A/B cut which I think is equal to a berk A. I'm guessing it will be 52-5400. Has the sport intake grate.

Show me on this chart where a stainless turns a different RPM than an aluminum or a bronze.......

I'm all ears.......

Man I hope my impeller doesn't explode. I'm at about 500 with an aluminum aggressor.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Low Oil Pressure?
« on: August 04, 2017, 08:31:36 PM »
For what it's worth, clay smith recommended I use permatex #1 between the pickup and pump and pump to block instead of a gasket. He said it lessens the chance of sucking air.

I had the water jackets welded closed on the ends where it meets the snail. No longer have to worry about leaks or corrosion.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Water in cylinders?
« on: July 31, 2017, 06:37:06 PM »
If you run the water before starting the boat you run the risk of filling up the the exhaust manifolds without having the exhaust gasses  to push the water out. It will find its way into any open exhaust valve.

No they aren't slotted unfortunately. I cut the bolts down flush with the nuts and I'm going to try again and see if it fits. The rubber mount on the pump is brand new.

It contacts the 2 forward nuts of the intake about 2 inches in from the rear of oil pan

Sounds to me like the alignment is a mile off... Drop the nose of the motor.

GT
Motor mounts are still in the original place. I had the stock pan on there before. The mounts look like they are as high as they go. Can I add a spacer?

I'm having the same problem with one of mine. I clamped down on it with vice grips and it didn't budge. Just shredded it. Thinking if drilling it out

What kind of exhaust? Maybe came up through the exhaust manifolds if they are logs. Happened to me before when I had the exhaust flappers go bad.
