Bringing this thread back to life. I believe these ports should actually have water running to them. Looking at other photos of ďretro OTE pipes it looks like some have fittings attached for running water. My pipes had seriously browned over the years but I just had them rechromed and want make them last now. Any ideas on how to plumb?

Winter project began with the family dog eating into the 1974 KONA black carpet, what the hell, time to gut out the rotten entire insides(sponge floor), then because there were 2 layers of flooring, 1 not walked on(not jet boat stringers supporting big block), eliminate the single stringer design by adding 2 more stringers for 1 single floor(3 new stringers & stiffer hull). I'll add the final finished photos over these last 4 weekends to come, blue carpet(cooler feet), stronger transom, functioning bilge pump, rewired electrical, reengineered lighter stronger seating, shorter sidewalls(beer/speakers/etc), fire extinguisher proper mount, remounted hydro's/battery. See ya this summer Bro's & Sis', Mother's Day Weekend AVI Again?++.......

Nice! I will see you at Avi! Good luck on the rebuild, lots of work ahead of you!

Got the pressure relief water dump mounted port side and installed all new HPS water lines as well as picked up the exhaust from the chromers! Lots more to do but Iím thinking a couple more solid days and sheís ready!
Going to replace the original 37amp Motorola alternator. Any suggestions on a reliable marine replacement? Would like a chrome or black one.

Finally got my seats wrapped and they game out sweet. Got some pics of the motor getting some love and a huge shout out to Nick at Mad Skillz for all the cool stuff he has made for me. He definitely takes pride in his work and gets it done in a timely manner with good prices.

Looking bitchin bro . I just finished all my mechanical shit and installed and doing the shake down on Friday at Parker . Gona run it for this season then the real fun stuff is getting done over the next winter . Derick Myers is sounding all the glass , gel , stingers . Then I get to put it all back together lol

Nice man! Are you having the gel coat redone or just wet sanding/buffing? Mine shines well but is cracking a lot at the bow. Iím wondering if a full strip and new gel coat is my only option.

Home stretch now! New fuel lines/water separator installed, all electrical cleaned up (every damn wire on the boat), new stereo installed, test fitted the rebuilt seats (new wood, original upholstery). Just have the carb left to rebuild and the new pressure regulator/water hoses. Then the polishing begins!

I want to put the water pressure regulator dump on my side so I can feel it with my hand while running. Any thoughts on that decision? I am a bit hesitant that it will look out of place. Anyone have pics of a similar setup?

Floor is done and new carpet is in. What a job! Way more work than I expected for this small boat! Seats, stereo and new fuel/water lines to be installed next week. Should be ready for an early February run!

Projects / Winter projects?
« on: December 20, 2018, 05:47:18 PM »
I searched around the forum and didnít see a winter projects thread so Iím starting one!

Post what youíre working on over the winter. Doesnít have to be boat related!

Here is one of my main projects below to start this off.

Replacing the flooring and original carpet and having the wood framing/structure replaced in the original seats. Also Going to install new fuel filter & water pressure regulator with driver side dump, all new HPS water hoses and new fuel lines as well as remove and if necessary replace the internal fuel tank pickups (probably original), new throttle cable and cleanup the stereo amp wires. The boat is a 1977 Tahiti Super Tiger and was all original with under 70 hours when I got it two years ago. Should be a busy winter with a lot more work to do. Pics below. And please post up your good projects!

GT - Sent you a couple PMs and never heard back from you. Hope I didn't burn a bridge this early in my SCJB residency!

I Lougled the relief/dump setup and found that people were suggesting to add a tee between the gate valve and split tee to the logs. Is this to ensure the pump does not over pressurize the block & heads? See attached diagram I found.

This does not illustrate the setup you explained above since your description seems to be dumping after thermohousing and before exhaust... Let me know when you have time (hoping before Avi trip).

What a gem! I as well am an owner of an original example of a 77 Tahiti and I feel like it's my duty to keep it as close to pure as possible.... I would love to see this one out!
