Random Boat Parts For Sale / Re: WTB: BBF twistie style O/T headers

I've got a pair I might be willing to sell. Overall good shape. A little rust on the insides of the tubes. Have water lines, but not t-valve. They are Bassets. What are you looking to pay? They are in SoCal, but I am driving to Dallas, TX. in a couple of weeks. Also willing to trade for 460 Ford parts, or stuff for my 70 GTO. Where in TX are you?

I see some things I would like! Those are high compression heads, right? Anyway, I am in SoCal until next weekend. I could come by tomorrow or next weekend. Get back when you can. Cash in hand.
(Don't what happened. Doesn't sound good. Best wishes.)

I'm looking for a polished aluminum intake for 460 BBF. Long shot. Got one?

My Holley 650 has a marine tag on it.  Sounds like that's a good thing! What about the Demon, since it is a unique design? The marine carbs are more $ than auto. Dizzy has marine tag too. What's the dizzy difference.

thread jack

Hey 78 Crusader, in SoCal right now, but boat is in Texas. Home lake is Ray Hubbard. Thinking carb too. My 460 BBF has a 650 and needs more. Seems like your motor could use a larger carb. Your starvation problem sounds familiar. My boat will run great for an hour of ragging, and then die. Still trying to sort out the gremins.

Looks like dual carbs and tunnel rams are cool. We are lining up like bums for a meal.

Don't want to step on toes. So I'll get in line. Nothing boat related to trade, but have greenbacks! Because, as mentioned, can always use a tunnel ram! Located in LA. Can pick up.

Possibly could use that. Just hit you about the plugs too. SCJB is a good place!

Just got some nice BBF Bassett twisties from german1. Changing from Nicson logs. What kind of power increase can I expect? Bassett website says 15%. That is considerable. True or not?

Great question. I am running a 650 on my BBF 460. Was told a 750 would add some mph. True or BS? All opinions appreciated!

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: WINTERIZING??
« on: October 19, 2010, 09:58:10 PM »
Fill tanks and use StaBill. SoCal does not have extreme cold weather, so winterizing is less difficult. My boat is in Texas and I use the White Trash method. Four 60 watt drop lights around motor to prevent freezing. With this method, boat has fired up every year with no problems. Good luck. Hell, with SoCal temps you can boat all year. I'm here working and itching for a jet ride! Any SoCal bros need a shotgun rider?

Try this link out.

High Torque Gear-Reduction Marine Starter for FORD 460 with Berkley Jet Drive

My friends boat has one and it's great. No problems. Goes for $199.95. I just ordered one today. Ask for Doug. Jegs and Summit want $434. That's more then double. It also has a lifetime warranty. Good luck!
