Jet Pumps / Re: How to access driveshaft bolts??
« on: February 22, 2014, 04:18:26 PM »
Ya driveshafts are u joit set ups so jack the block up just enough so the engine is free swinging ang slide forward until it's off the jet drive shaft, and everytime I ever put the motor back in, you do exact opposite, lower it down to close to where it mounts, then slide driveshaft onto the jet drive splines, then bolt motor back up..... An engine sling is a def plus

I'll take it upon myself to correct....myself... Place diverter has a different model for a je as opposed to Jc/jg models so.... I guess the answer is no

As I recall a je is a split bowl while a Jc isn't, but that may not matter as the place diverter setup is from steering pins back, in which I cant see why not since the steering pin orifice dimensions should b the same. The split bowl versions just created an opportunity to modify the outlet design to accommodate wedges and snoots etc. then again, I might be just telling stories 😳

Thx for the info, ya I know the rounded keel def helps feed the intake, mine is shoed and ride plated, had McClure build me a loader last year that was built for the delta bottom design, so I'm not gunna mess with the bottom. My buddy mike did the work while feeding jack all of the dimensions to build the loader, mike also re shoed it to work better with the whole setup, and he strongly advised an at style droop. He drove it last and said it performed well but needs a full droop. Unfortunately I was never able to get out and drive it after the work was done last summer, so I can't attest to the difference before and after

Jet Pumps / Eliminator sprints
« on: February 22, 2014, 02:58:22 PM »
I'm starting to see more and more of the sprints lately which is nice because I've had mine for abt 7 years, and haven't seen any tech talk on them until lately... My question is, how well do the full droops work on these boats? I have a mini droop, and it doesn't do much for drying out the bottom at speed. They are pretty shallow hulls, and everything i try, apart from puting the place diverter ridiculously high, doesn't seem to get it out of the water. I still run pretty good, abt 80 spinning an A abt 5600, I am going to switch to a b to make the motor happy at top end, but I think a droop (at style) will help dry it out more and get some more speed out of it..... Any input from the sprint owners out there?
