The No Wake Zone / I cant help but laugh!
« on: August 21, 2009, 09:11:30 AM »
I am sure I take a little too much pleasure in someones ego taking a hit, especially a good friend.  I was on the river with him this week in his aluminum jet fishing boat and he told me it did 55mph.  So lets find out! Pulled out the ole GPS system, went DOWN river, opened it up all the way and looked down at the GPS and it read - 44.1mph.  I erupted in laughter.  He wasn't happy at all.  Told me "something must be wrong".  I replied with, "Yeah, your boat is slow".  Good times!
Just another moment where a boater over shoots how fast his boat is.  Not saying I havent done it from time to time, but still.  ;)

Agreed, the 6.0 was only an issue early when they came out with it.
I had an 2005 6.0 Powerstroke and never had one issue.

But since I havent had a boat in five years(I know, horrible) I pulled my last two with a 1979 Ford F150 with a 351.

I think I finally have a break in my schedule and probably go scope it out this weekend.

Push button starting AND a color coordinated tow bar.     Fock that's a cool boat.    Looks pretty nice from here.

HA HA HA! :D
Is that was that button is?  My buddy and I stared at that picture for twenty minutes discussing what that could be.  It was like two drunk monkey's trying to figure out a calculus equation.

He has been trying to sell this for a long time, but hadn't seen it for sale since last summer.  Seen him run at Camp Far West a few times.  Bad Ass Boat!

Boats For Sale / How old is too old?

So I am interested in this boat.

http://chico.craigslist.org/boa/1282736087.html

Been getting info from the owner the past couple days and found out this morning it is a 1964.  I was hoping for a little newer than that, 70's perhaps.  Is there ever a moment when you say "MAN, that is just too old"?  Perhaps not.  Maybe I am just being dumb. :screwy:

But I admit, from what I see it is VERY clean! >:D

Once you go flat...........

Got an email response from the owner:

18 foot Kindsvater.
Engine has a "nice" cam and a 750 Holley.
I am quoting here "top end speed is endless, very fast".  (laughs) Who knows what that means!  But it at least it sounds cool.
"Done a lot of work to it, in great condition".

Might have to go take a look at this.  Soon.
