I'm not painting the boat myself. Mike and James at Kahos Kolors is painting it. It will have a red, white and blue patriotic paint scheme.

Events / Re: SCJB @ The Avi Mothers Day Weekend - May 11-13, 2018
« on: April 20, 2018, 07:01:04 AM »
Alright made reservations. Will be there with Daytona and the family. Will be a first at avi for me, I here the ramp can be a pain?? Any thoughts.

Sent from my iPhone using SoCal Jet Boats
The ramp is a pain because it launches right into open water and is only 2-3 trailers wide. It is protected a bit from the current but you get the waves from boats passing by. Usually a few people hang out to give each other a hand to hold boats and get everyone off the water safely.
Question : How crowded does the Avi Beach get for this event?

Sent from my iPhone using SoCal Jet Boats
It's pretty crowded. You gotta get up early to get a spot. As the day goes on the water level comes up and makes for more room. It's usually 2 deep at the events. Sometimes 3 deep. So basically boats nose in on the beach then boats behind them anchored nose out.

Boat Racing / Re: Comp Jet Racing 2016.
« on: January 11, 2018, 10:42:57 AM »
Here's how things went..

At the races in March 2017, 702 was caught pulling away from the class then sand bagging just enough to stay out in front. Instead of singling him out, there was a collective agreement to P&G the top 3 boats Sunday morning. When Billy was approached by Shirl Sunday morning he was very defensive. Billy said "You're not touching my motor - fuck your class and shove it up your ass". Shirl responded with that he was not allowed to participate in CompJet until he submitted to the test. (I was right there and heard all of the above with my own ears). He then went on to race in GPS100 (he broke out and was asked to leave that class) then the GN class for the final on Sunday.

At the Long Beach race in 2017, 702 boat showed up. Shirl was not able to make it to the venue Saturday to enforce his ruling on CJ702. He raced in the class on Saturday without submitting to a P&G test as required by the class rep. I addressed this with Ross and his response was that our class rep has no say so weather a boat can or can not participate in our class. I explained to him the situation and he didn't care. Because the Long Beach race was a national, the 702 boat was required to be tested at the end of the day Sunday. I stood there and watched - there was many inconclusive tests. I could see the person performing the tests getting impatient. They concluded its was a 470-something cubic inch motor leaving many of us scratching our heads. The person performing the tests basically said 'sorry, I got more important classes to go test'.

So let me ask this and let it sink in: How does a 470 cubic naturally aspirated motor in a 21' boat break out in a GPS100 class?

There is some speculation that he showed up to long beach with a smaller motor since he knew he would have to face a test.

So there was 3 boats on the roster to show up to Thanksgiving 2017. When it was relayed to the class that the 702 boat would not be showing up, the class was cancelled. 2 of the boats still wanted to come race and asked if they could run in the GPS100 class. Ross said no. The 702 boat shows up anyways and is allowed to run in the GPS100 class, where he sank another boat with his big wake. The class rep of the GPS100 class then banned him from the class.

So why was Shirl's ruling overruled, but the rep from GPS100 was allowed to ban him?

There is many unanswered questions above. I am done arguing about it - I just want some consistencies. This class is a joke and will die if this boat continues to ridicule the class and make it a laughing stock.

From what I gather, people in the class don't want to do anything about this hull. I have yet to hear anyone other than myself really speak up about it. Terry is over it and said hes done racing, same with Shirl - he sold his boat. I am done until that hull is not legal in the class.

What is it going to take for Ross to acknowledge that the class is in shambles because of this boat? All Ross cares about is boat count. He thinks we need the 702 boat but it is the complete opposite.

For the record - I am not trying to ban Billy. He may be a jerk, but I agree that we need racers. I think the hull should not be legal. The hull is not in the spirit of the class. If Billy made a legit compjet boat, I would be all about it. His Catalina ski race boat has no place in our class.

Boat Racing / Re: Comp Jet Racing 2016.
« on: January 10, 2018, 09:43:08 AM »
He's not gone. We were told he wasnt going to be at Thanksgiving, but he still showed up. There would have been a legal class if it was know he was going to show up. But instead he ran GPS 100, sank ANOTHER boat on the course. Class rep of GPS100 kicked him out for good....but when Shirl tried to kick him out of compjet earlier last year, Ross was quick to pull Shirls authority away from him making that call.

Until that hull is ilegal to run in the class, I have no interest in participating or promoting this class.

If brad takes a pic of my boat @ one of his events then he owns the rights to that photo.
Not down with that.
I got way too much money,  late night hours hustling to get to the lake in the morning for some one to OWN the rights to a photo.
In the event scjb had a pic of my boat and put it on one of their t shirts you think I would see a dime of it. Think not.
I like this site there is plenty of info and talent on here to get answers on just about anything and I'll keep checking out everyone's post so I can keep learning my self
If you don't want me to take/post photos of your boat, just let me know bud. I can totally respect that. Most people are excited to show off their hard work and get recognition for it. Every boat I have ever put on a shirt I got permission to do prior to going to print. Every one of them were blown away and excited about it.

This goes for anyone. If you don't want pics of your boat taken/posted, just let me know. I will respect your wishes and will not take offense to it.

Trailers / Horsepower Fest Dolly Trailer Build
« on: September 26, 2017, 03:39:06 PM »
This year we are aiming to be next level in the aspects of Big Ticket Raffle items at Horsepower Fest.

We have decided to raffle off a Dolly Trailer this year at Horsepower Fest!

Michael Burks donated this trailer. It's in rough condition. Brian Thompson volunteered to the task of getting it from Hemet to Pomona where the Back Door of MadSkillz Fabrication is located. This was a task because the trailer was missing wheels and the tongue was cut off at some point.

Nick Valore aka MadSkillz will be cutting this thing up and doing his magic to convert this to a Dolly Trailer. This trailer will then be raffled off at Horsepower Fest which is benefiting The Norona Effect, a local charity in the Lake Havasu area.

The trailer will be straightened out and rust ridden parts will be removed and replaced. When done, it will be complete with a new everything including coupler, floater bar, axles, spindles, bearings, hubs, leaf springs, u-bolts, hangers, shackles, tie plates, wheels, DOT tires, lights, wiring, paint, bunks, etc. This thing will be fully loaded and ready for the road. It will even have a swing away tongue and cut away in the rear so you can change your pump hardware easily. Bunks will be set up for a v-bottom style boat or compatible gullwing.

Attached are some of the pictures of how the trailer was when donated. Follow this thread for updates of this project - up to the winner of the Raffle.

Raffle will be at Horsepower Fest on November 4th, 2017 at the Avi. Tickets will be sold at a later determined price. Winner must be present to win.

For more information about Horsepower Fest, please visit www.HorsepowerFest.com

He actually raced in the GPS100 class's first heat on Sunday. Rumor has it he broke out and wasn't welcomed back, so then he went to the GN final which was only 10 laps (normally 20) and got his ass handed to him. Rumor has it they weren't happy he was out there with him either.

Wonder how it feels to get kicked out of 3 classes in one day?
