Sanger Hydro/jet with an orig. Gale Banks BBF
« on: November 09, 2011, 08:05:50 AM »
I found this on Ebay this morning!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1976-SANGER-HYDRO-ALL-ORIGINAL-JET-BOAT-GALE-BANKS-TWIN-TURBOS-MUST-SEE-/130597993700?pt=Power_Motorboats&hash=item1e683f3ce4

I like it...except for the seperation at the bond line on the transom!! I wonder what the stringers look like?
What do you think its actually worth?
It looks like a good home for an Aluminum, Boss headed, 600 inch Ford!! hehehe!!!

i think that it has major structural problems  like a rotton transom the cracks in the bow and the way it looks buckled in some of the pics. I think it needs way more than his artist friend to be safe, I would run like hell in the opposite direction but thats just me I could be wrong

that boat looked spectacular in the first few pictures.....then when he started taking closer pictures...man, that things seen better days.

the sponsoons have serious damage around the cap lines

the spider cracks on the bow are from the bulkhead not being properly set. its pretty common to see that on older boats

the transom is just the cap coming apart. not horrible, but makes me wonder if water got back into the transom wood.

the motor has a cool factor, but if the lack of maintenance reflects in its cosmetic appearance. it looks like its seen better days like the rest of the boat.

not a bad asking price for a twin turbo hydro tho.

It sure has a $hut-load of coolness going on! I am digging it...alot

Too bad it has taken such a beating. The old paint looks like it still has alot of life in it. Do you think its savable? I think not...
The transom cracks being below the water line sucks hard! What would you guess the transom and bulkhead repairs would take? Are we talking grind and glass or complete circumcision?

At least (most of) the interior looks great for 35+ years old
The motor runs so that’s a plus! lol But since it needs a bunch of hull work, the motor should get up-dated. Maybe heads, cam, Intake, pistons…..

I think for the right price it is a killer river beast!!
