Exactly.

Just remember this and you'll do fine here "Truth hurts, wear a helmet"

With that out of the way, how's the Howard coming along?

well lets see managed to drill deverter side so now both sides are double drilled noticed water dripping from chimed area of intake under boat was able to remove intake from hull with no damage to glass or intakeneed to figure out how to correctly reset the intake in the boat what i was thiking is to lay a bed of epoxy puddy and set it in bolt it up not tight to start but level it out  to hull made repairs to rt stringer were glass had cracked thanks for asking

Honda-

Sounds like you're on the right track, I know there's more to it than what you've listed, but you're for sure heading in the right direction.

Harry-

I'm sure you can do it, I know you're going to need some epoxy, not sure what you've got available locally but Rex Marine sells the stuff you need

http://www.rexmar.com/page381.html

It's the Heavy Duty Sea Going Epoxy Putty

Good luck!

Harry you have done a great job cleaning and prepping , reseting that intake particularly with the "set back"  is critical there are some tools you'll need (your welcome to borrow) It will take at least 1 small epoxy kit and could take one and a half we also recommend you start will all new fasteners/stainless bolts nuts etc  (check Cuesta equiptment near your shop). The precise angle of the mounting plate vs the keel will be critical and we will need to determine what intake (degree) the intake is for sure to set it correctly Call if you need help Tom

Help me feel less foolish if you would.... :-\

Shouldn't the bare aluminum be prepped with some zinc chromate or zinc phosphate primer?, I have always had adhesion issues with bare naked aluminum to virtually anything.....

Not bashing the thread, you're doing an awsome job

Unless the epoxy kits have an etching property, I would get an oxidization barrier on the intake...

If I am incorrect, can someone set me straight?

I am used to aluminum boats and have had to use some zinc chromate just to get my bilge pumps to stick in epoxy, that is until I discovered the extra strength hot glue gun sticks (the bomb BTW)...

GT
If i get some free time tonight at work, ill play with it and post it for everyone to see.

Time to man up and yank it John!  :banghead:
