Shit if you've got it this far down, capping it would only be another step towards your end goal, I say go for it. As for primer, I really like PPG high fill primer, you'll need to thin it down quite a bit, but it is a great fill primer. I've done 3 cars and chassis with it. Good shit and it's priced right.

I Used the same for my boat.  Although it was my 1st total paint job, everything went on well except the clear.  I had a hard time with runs.  If I do another I will use a different clear

Well working on my post count  >:D >:D
Spent my day off picking up and paying for stuff for the boat. I got a piece of alum  for fab on transom cover, a nice big chunk for 12.00$, cam & lifters 224.00$,  ppg filler primer gal  60.00$.  Then I started to tear down my motor, removed very clean heads and found why it had a miss, the #8 cylinder was sucking water by way of the intake and I found rust in the cylinder.

I figure I'm going to have the block cleaned up and see if it can be honed, the pistons rods and crank all look new,  Mondello wants $399.00 for sized crank and rod bearings, that's crazy! nothing is cheap through them, I'll just keep looking. I have two motors coming in two weeks with K heads  and poss W30 heads when I go down to Torrance for school.

Fixed it for ya!  ;)  Just bustin' your balls...  ;D  Make the posts count!...LOL

You make me work too hard to read your chit.. ^-^
