HOW HARD IS IT TO CONVERT OUTDRIVE TO JET DRIVE? I WOULD LIKE TO CHANGE IT OVER? IS THERE ANY SPECIAL THINGS TO MODIFY

why would you want to do that a outdrive is little better of a set up then jet.

I have done a few of them but it is a lot of work, and well worth it if safety is #1 on your list.

I have a jet boat that puts out 980 hp and I have a complete set up in my pickle but I have run out of room and need more space so I am going to get another boat and convert. I found an open bow and it had an outdrive in it!

I think it would cheaper to find a boat that's already set up with a jet. Maybe try to find and old day cruiser. If you look around you can get them for a few thousand if has jet and motor just sell it if you don't need it.

If ya' wanna go fast just get a 300 Outboard and put in on there! That's what Hotrod is doing...

A friend of mine has an old Nordic 18' (I think) that was converted to an open bow. It also has a built-in cooler in the bow. It looks killer! marcsrollin can get you the guy's contact info if you want it.

I've got many more years left in me before I would consider putting on a strap on. As far as using a strap-on the "other" way, I think you have that market cornered already.

Actually Kregs was a 1/2 wacker before it was a full wacker before it became a jet the other pics are of a Ultra OB we made a jet Tom

I'll try to get you some better pictures...... my digital camera just went the way of the 8-track so I've gotta get a new one. It's a Volvo/Penta 280 with a 302 for power. I will probably be converting to a big block. The hull works great. It's actually a pretty nice ride. It's a '78 Ranger open-bow that's 20' long. It's fiberglass over wood construction.......... let the demolition begin!!!!!

That boat (the Cambell Whaler) was about 16k (4 years ago) P&L BUT ...that included a complete 450 hp BBC as you see it a Hughes (AZ) 400 turbo ,Casale v-drive ,prop, prop shaft, steering,cavitation Hdwr, guages etc etc etc Josh and I had an a$$ load of hours in it . Would you guys like to see more of that boat? its "Tits" Matt (the owner) sold it for 25k year before last
