Looking to buy first boat. Need some advice. (Links inside)
« on: November 14, 2011, 04:27:29 PM »
I've paid off some debt and saved up some cash and now I'm ready to start looking for a boat.

Now, this will be my first boat, so I'm not sure if that matters much when looking. I just don't want to buy a piece of shit that putts along the water. Could anyone give me some advice on these two boats.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I know you guys might say to wait to find the right deal. But I'm a very impatient person.

First one is priced a tad high....3500. I would pass on the second unless hes willing to come down as well. Are you looking to buy a boat then decide later you want a good hull? What do you want out of it. Just saw this...  He started high and now he wants 5000 minus motor.

My little brother has a couple of boats for sale. He is a member here. Redsnapperslapper. Here are a few pics of the boats. The first one is a glencoe with a 454 and a jacuzzi the second one is a hallet bubble deck 454 and a berkley. These are off my phone. When I get home I can post some better pics.

its way too cold to be paying more than $5k for a jet boat unless its been thoroughly been redone and is top notch.  theres tons of deals out there, especially if you're willing to put in a little work.

I know your in the bay area, but I would look around to all the areas around you. I'm in orange county, and I look on CL from here to vegas to Yuma to even the bay area. Being patent and a little drive never hurt anyone. I went to Havasu for my boat after 7 months of looking and even then I was ready but thought I'd be looking all winter, I had a deadline of before next summer though.

Oh and if I was looking at the kind of floats you are in the price range, I'd jump all over that hallet. It's clean and everyone here with tell you he takes care of his stuff.

$5500 obo. its a full stringer, berk "c" with a manual place diverter. The pump has a loader and is freash. The paint on the boat is good i would give it an 8 out of 10. the metal flake is awesome all the way around. The boat is rootbeer metal flake and cream. The motor is a BBC 454, basset over the transome headers with water lines. PM my little brother or call him he is home. his number is 714-3998244

I might be a bit biased but making the drive to pick up a Hallett is well worth it, I think Nick can agree since he drove to Carson City from OC to get his.  Hell, I went to out to Brastow to get mine.  I'm sure it will be worth the time and money and if that one doesn't work out Nixonnow has a Hallett for sale as well at about the same price.
