Tonight I installed the oil pump, oil pan, remote oil filter adaptor, made/modified the oil dipstick, front mount, flexplate, rear mount, PTO, and the driveline. It's ready to put in the boat to line up the driveline and mounts. finally.   ;D

Today was a successfull day, kind of.   ???

I got my garage cleaned, raised the engine up with my (choose a racial explitative) cherry picker, moved the boat into the garage ( ! ) , lowered the engine - and met hell.   :'(  Pretty much a major pain in the asss. I've been working on it now, after work, for 9 hours.

A long story short there's usefull info in here... if you pull an Olds 455 out and leave the srtinger mounts on the stringers, and you're putting in a 454 Chevy, leave both front and rear stringer mounts where they're at, make 1/2 inch thick spacers for your front engine mount and BAM   :o  you're done.   ;D

However, if you run into a snag say, and suppose the driveline don't go into the pump,  ???  , and then say you TAP the yoke with a hammer, and the yoke gets stuck in the damn pump and then you pry out the yoke outta tha pump and you break the pump and then you steal a driveline from a friend (Hi Marc) and it don't even fit and then your sandblasting a yoke in the dark and it don't go in and yer like what the   ???   >:(   >:(   :'(  so you work on it some more you finally get the damn @#!^&*%@# yoke in there and you can bolt the engine to the mounts and ONE hole lines up so you drill out the rest (stringers are freakin' beutifull in this hull brother!) and your bolt the stringer mounts to the engine mounts and you run outtta bolts but its 12:30 in the morning and your starting to get faded   ;D  and then you sit down   ???  you stare at it, do this do that   8)  take a couple of pics and say - DMN THAT WAS EASY!   O0

NOS.   ;D  150 Super Shot

I bought it used, no instructions. Does the fuel or the NOS solenoid go in the front of the engine, does it matter? Anyone know out there?

What do you think of the bottle location? I can't have it where it's normally put in the center of the front of the boat with the handle towards the driver (ME!) because I want easy access to under the bow for life jackets and crap.

All I wanted to do was set the bottle on the floor, but I just had to remove the fire extinguisher bottle bracket to do it so I got a screwdriver to turn the 2 little phillips heads screws and that didn't work so I got a socket and ratchet and THAT didn't work so I gots me a freakin hammer and THAT WORKED!   ;D

Lets make some simple spacers, say a half inch thick, to mount your engine, it's too late to go to the metal shop and buy aluminum, what do you do? You fanagle a engine mount from a friend (Thanks Marc!) and you make yourself a pair of spacers.   ;D

It seems odd to me that both of the Roger's that I've owned both had their cables going through fiberglass instead of through the pump or stainless grommets on the transom.   ???

Check out the pic of me sitting in the back seat, look how close that engine is to my leg!   :o

Damn that looks good!

The driveline is crooked because it isn't bolted to the PTO, I still need to break the cam in. It does line up really well.

Thank you and goodnight.  8)

I got one log on today,   ^-^  I installed the oil pan drain plug today,   :-\

My project took a  turn yesterday, have you ever felt buyer's remorse?   ???  Yeah, I'm going through it right now. Pics of that remorse in a few days...   ;)

But for now, here you go.   ;D

p.s.: what's "the right way" (without fiberglass work) for me to align the exhaust log's outlet to the part on the transom?   ???  Old Rigger?   ;D

just a couple of things though, turn the scoop around and your oil filter lines they are under pressure sooooooooooooo,  i wouldnt want the hose clamps to fail and drain your pan before you noticed. what size are the lines. please reconsider with better lines.

yeah keep those nose of the bottle up a little 2 or 3 inchs this is to help it flow and you want a bottle heater to get the psi around 900 depending on size of bottle  the noids dont really matter your lines will just have to be longer also i put my bottle on the driver side next to the seat so u cant see it  and keeps it out of the way  oh the scoop looks great the way it is  u dont see drag boats with the scoop turned around its made to scoop air thats why they call it a SCOOP ralph  good luck ;D
