I searched around the forum and didnít see a winter projects thread so Iím starting one!

Post what youíre working on over the winter. Doesnít have to be boat related!

Here is one of my main projects below to start this off.

Replacing the flooring and original carpet and having the wood framing/structure replaced in the original seats. Also Going to install new fuel filter & water pressure regulator with driver side dump, all new HPS water hoses and new fuel lines as well as remove and if necessary replace the internal fuel tank pickups (probably original), new throttle cable and cleanup the stereo amp wires. The boat is a 1977 Tahiti Super Tiger and was all original with under 70 hours when I got it two years ago. Should be a busy winter with a lot more work to do. Pics below. And please post up your good projects!

Floor is done and new carpet is in. What a job! Way more work than I expected for this small boat! Seats, stereo and new fuel/water lines to be installed next week. Should be ready for an early February run!

Home stretch now! New fuel lines/water separator installed, all electrical cleaned up (every damn wire on the boat), new stereo installed, test fitted the rebuilt seats (new wood, original upholstery). Just have the carb left to rebuild and the new pressure regulator/water hoses. Then the polishing begins!

I want to put the water pressure regulator dump on my side so I can feel it with my hand while running. Any thoughts on that decision? I am a bit hesitant that it will look out of place. Anyone have pics of a similar setup?

Nice man! Are you having the gel coat redone or just wet sanding/buffing? Mine shines well but is cracking a lot at the bow. Iím wondering if a full strip and new gel coat is my only option.

Not a jet, but me and a buddy are redoing a hydrostream vulture. New stringers and a good chunk of the core got put in today. I have never had an outboard before so it should be fun. We are putting a 200 merc on it with 10 or 12 inch setback with a low water pickup on it and hoping to cut the mid down to a 15 inch....but we will see....and somebody painted it black over the beautiful original blue flake paint🤬

Tracy just did some work to his boat over the weekend too. He put on a ride plate and a shoe I believe and something else I think he said. Looks killer. And I'm getting ready to have some pump work done myself. The Missouri crew is prepping for the coming season

Thank You So Much for your time and again.  What a Beautiful boat you have there.  Have a bless evening. PS... here is a few pics of mine so you can see what I have to work with.

Hey joe, Iím sure you could find some aftermarket swim steps for your boat. Theyíre kind of universal. Mine are fiberglass with teak wood inserts, and a small tubular stainless frame . Stainless Bolts thru the transom and fiberglass is bolted to the tubes .

Cheers!

Hey there... my name is Joe and I guess you can say Iím a newbie....Iím out here always looking at the beautiful boats that everybody on this website has. I have a 1985 Youngblood FX19 and itís an ok jet boat but what I was wanting to no is the back of your boat you have those platforms with the steps on them. And I love that because my wifeís biggest bitch is ď Well If You Get Out Of The Boat, How The Hell Ya Getting Back InĒ and I hate to say it but she is right...LOL... Iím almost 50 and I canít do what I did when I was 25... so anyway sorry so long but I was hopping you might be able to steer me in the right direction. Thank You So Much for your time and again.  What a Beautiful boat you have there.  Have a bless evening. PS... here is a few pics of mine so you can see what I have to work with.

I'd really re-think swim steps on the back with open headers. *HOT*

Way too easy to grab a hot header.

Coating the inside of my hatch. Looks a lot better than the ugly resin and spots.  Good rainy day project

Going to replace the original 37amp Motorola alternator. Any suggestions on a reliable marine replacement? Would like a chrome or black one.

Winter project began with the family dog eating into the 1974 KONA black carpet, what the hell, time to gut out the rotten entire insides(sponge floor), then because there were 2 layers of flooring, 1 not walked on(not jet boat stringers supporting big block), eliminate the single stringer design by adding 2 more stringers for 1 single floor(3 new stringers & stiffer hull). I'll add the final finished photos over these last 4 weekends to come, blue carpet(cooler feet), stronger transom, functioning bilge pump, rewired electrical, reengineered lighter stronger seating, shorter sidewalls(beer/speakers/etc), fire extinguisher proper mount, remounted hydro's/battery. See ya this summer Bro's & Sis', Mother's Day Weekend AVI Again?++.......

Boat is getting an inducer, stuffer plate and full impeller detail. And I think I'm gonna play with my setup a little but and gonna flip my wedge and see what that does once it's back together
