Hey Glenn, good to see you are finding things to stay busy in your old age.  Wait, you are younger than me I think.  :banghead:
Today is the first time I have logged into the website in a very long time, but I follow the FB page pretty regularly.  Sadly my boat hasn't seen the water in many years, but I'm just not sure on how to proceed with it.  I would like something newer but today's prices are just stoopid.  Next year will be the thirtieth and most likely the last, as they have taken me out of my position after 28 years (where I was working with kids one on one) and put me back in the regular classroom.  Needless to say, this is not how I had planned to wrap up my teaching career.
Are you going to make it down to LB in August?
GC,

I am disappointed that you are not ending your career the way you desire. Seems that the pandemic adjusted a lot of people's decision making paradigms.

I'm actually getting closer to my dream job, not there yet, but I think I can see the path to get there.

All the wild fires and insane weather are starting to take a toll, but that's pretty uncontrollable.

I might make it up to LB. My dad has never been, he's been to Ming and Burley, I think he would dig Long Beach.

I'll reach out if we decide.

And for the record, I probably feel older.

Hope to see you soon.

GT

I ran schoenfeld sprint car headers on mine, just upside down, for 7 years. Added water injection and baffles. Auger type baffles, just one auger, not all 3... And drilled out at that. High temp bbq silver/grey every year.

You want water injected like bassets or dry. You can pick up some schoenfeld dry headers off of jegs

Im not positive but I thought the laws in SoCal/ lower Colorado river (AZ) required wet headers, am I wrong on that?

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Olds 455 oil

Yes, take out some oil. You are probably sloshing it around in the pan being so full. Could even help your oil pressure.

Man, brings back memories. Thinking back to 1999. I had a 19 foot California with a 200hp weed whacker on it. My buddy who thought that was super cool having a boat too, bought a miller with an Olds 455 in it. EVERYTIME, he hit the throttle hard for more than a few seconds oil would spew out his breathers all over the transom. Good times! Lol. Weirdly good memories.

Hahaha sounds like good time! Im thinking that with so much oil the crank might be whipping up the oil and adding air to it, lowering the overall pressure. Hopefully taking some out helps both problems.
