I only had them give me a second look once: Driving in the whoops next to cahuilla 3-4th gear and the ranger attempted to turn around but was thwarted by a string of motor homes. Lucky me. Other than that I have even camped with some off duty rangers and had no problems. I'd prefer to go closer to home but my family lives in Ramona, plus I'm familiar with Ocotillo.
Ocotillo wells or Ocotillo.....two different places....I've been going to Ocotillo for over 20 years

Both really, I have been going to "FUD" races forever and Ocotillo Wells too.

One step closer to being ready for desert season. Last night I made a roll bar mount for my go pro. I know... I know... they sell one for $30 but I didn't think that plastic pos would hold up in the prerunner, so I built one out of sheet metal. When it is cleaned up (sanded, filed etc) I'll post a pic or two. Either way it should hopefully provide for some decent in car footage.

Didn't turn out quite as nice as I would have liked but it does have a full range of motion and I have no worries about this one breaking.

Well, finally got out to Ocotillo Wells on Wednesday. This was the coldest trip I have ever had! Bug worked great! No problems all weekend. Had 2 run ins with the fuzz and no tickets. It was a great trip all in all.
