Does rule #8 no longer apply?

SCJB Top 10 List Rules

Rule #1: Have fun. The purpose of the SCJB Top 10 list is to have fun. If at any point fun has been lost, then the purpose of the Top 10 list has been lost.

Rule #2: These rules have been written loosely for reasons defined in Rule #1. If at any point these rules are stretched, bent, or taken out of context, Rule #1 has been broken.

Rule #3: The participating Driver and Boat must attend Two (2) SCJB Official Events. Said Driver and Boat don't necessarily have to compete in the SCJB Top 10 List at said events.

Rule #4 All call-outs must be done publicly in the SCJB Top 10 board via a new thread on SoCalJetBoats.com in the SCJB Top 10 Board.

Rule #5 Challenger can only call-out 1 position above their current position. Challenger and defender must schedule race within the 3 following weekends. If defending spot cannot fulfill this requirement, spot will be forfeited. If challenger is unable to fulfill challenge within required time, call-out is canceled.

Rule #6 Race takes place at spot agreed upon by both challenger and defender. The defender has priority over challenger on determining spot. Races do not have to take place at SCJB Events.

Rule #7 Race length is to be 800 feet and from a dig.

Rule #8 If any participant changes their hull at any time, they must restart from the bottom of the list.

Rule #9 All races are to be coordinated in a safe manner. No racing 3 wide, in rough or crowded water, or beyond the boat or drives capabilities. Any races deemed unsafe by the committee will be disqualified and possibly banned from further participation. Intoxicated driving will not be tolerated. Also, wear a lifeline or some sort of life jacket, ya big dummy!

Rule #10 Jet driven boats only.

Rule #11 See Rule #1

**Any revisions, changes, additions, or deletions to the rules will be noted below in the replies to this thread.

Hmmmmm good valid point sir. I never seen any call outs to either
 # 10 or # 9 spot by Jim posted either.  Dishonesty is very Detouring. :-(

For someone who just sits here and picks apart this list at any chance you get, those are big words to be using. Kinda getting tired of your constant negative remarks and makes you like you're just here to nothing but stir the pot. This list is for fun, no one here is being dishonest. If you don't like it, unsubscribe yourself from the site.

Bostick passed on Jim becauae he was not ready and his boat was still getting painted. The 2 call-out was posted as well.

Yes. He was #1 and had to start from the bottom.

Funny how when you get caught being shady you wanna try to act like your not the bad guy lol.  Just like you waited to update the list until you were ready to make a call out lol.  You know what happened and got caught with your own hand in the cookie Jar Brother.  So what your saying is that if I see that the aka loose rules (keep it fun) aren't being followed then I should just let it slide? How is that fair to anyone else in the group? Hey I was sitting back patiently waiting on the list to be updated so I could make a public call out. also asked for it to be update, asked if Jim could updated because you may be too busy with other events. So yeah I feel like you did it that way for personal gain.

What exactly did I do that was shady? I updated the list. Yeah, I thought to myself "hell, why dont I take a jab at this while I can" I didn't know YOU were waiting for me to do that for a call out. You are being a cry baby and shit starter here. Hand in the cookie jar? LMAO. you are being sooo fucking ridiculous.

I'll tell ya what. Go ahead, call out #10. I will cancel my callout so you can get your way. Have fun with it.

Drama like this which you are starting is what is going to kill this list. I have no personal gain from this list or from being "dishonest" as you called it. This whole deal is more of a headache than its worth. Jim is texting me now that he wants off the list because of this drama youre starting. Same with Bostick - he doesnt want this drama. Good job asshat, you're doing a good job at killing a good thing.

Stop and look at yourself before you go pointing fingers. I've been warned by many about you - turns out they were right. #10 callout is yours, you can have it.

Gent's when the top ten list was started the group was smaller and a couple of us came up with it. We loosely based it on the street outlaws show. The list worked then not even sure it is a good idea anymore . I agree with James Bostick this is not worth losing a friend over. It seems some people need to start shit on every post they can not my style.  I use to enjoy our list and the bench racing that went along with it. At this time it has became a list that I don't want to be a part of anymore. I'm not going to blame anyone and have nothing to prove with my boat and hope to see all my SoCal buddies out on the water.   ✌️

Are you pulling off the list Jim? I didn't want anybody fighting over the post, I was confused on what had happened and just wanted to clear things up. We are all friends here and no one should be upset or lose friendships over it.

I think to take a spot a race should be made. If an engine is blown and the driver is not able to make it they should formally remove from the list and keep the racing going. The rules were written loosely and there is always room for improvements. But that's just my .2

Will Brad be updating the list as per position movement? Leaving john in the 8 spot and now James in the 9?

Maybe you missed the other thread. Myself James and Jim all pulled out. John messaged me saying he wanted off, but that's not official until he states it publicly.

This bullshit tore apart the list and not one list race has been raced this year.

I don't got time for this bullshit drama nor do I want the liability anymore. You kids can go drive this into the ground as you wish. You guys killed a good thing because of finger pointing.

You damn well knew Jim was off the list because he changed hulls. But made it up two spots due to technicalities (people's boats were down) but the shit flinging and finger pointing pursued. I got accused of running the list in a shady and dishonest manner because I updated the list and called out Bostick. I didnt know there was a line to call anyone out. There is no such thing as a waiting list. It's first come first serve, but David pitched a fit and tried to discredit my position running the list fairly. Fuck it, I'm done.  The fun is gone.

I understand the frustration but wasn't Jims boat unfinished as well? There's no need to cuss at me Brad. As far as the list goes I saw another member call out the #10 spot and somehow that post was removed. And from what I read on the other post Bostick stated we knew where he was and if someone wanted a piece to head down and he'd run it. With the season just starting I think it would be a good idea to update the list and make some needed updates to the rules so everyone can enjoy and have a fun time racing. As stated before how fun is it to take a spot from someone who can't even make the race. All unfinished boats or unable to race boats should drop from the list until they can race throughout the season.

Oh bullshit. You posted that intentionally to stir the pot. No offense but why are you so inquisitive about the rules and standings? You don't have a competitive boat to even take on the bottom 5. I see your buddy's with David who loves to stir the pot as well. It was your intention to stir the pot because you even decided to attach that stupid meme. So, go read rule #2. You already broke that rule because you are picking the rules apart.... and you're not even on the list!

The #10 call-out you mentioned was void because he didn't even call out the right guy (Forrester isn't on the list - yes my fault because the list wasn't updated) and later retracted it because of all the confusion and attitude he got.

So didn't you break Rule #2 as well?  Rules were bent with boats being unfinished and moving position with their boat unfinished as well. So technically with what your stating is if I post a call out for the 10 spot right now I'll automatically be placed at 7 because of all the drop outs?

No, I didn't. Jim called out Bostick in private (technically rule #4 broken) and Bostick declined. Jim then called out John publicly here as he should have but John let him pass because his boat wasn't working as well. If you read the rules, if someone calls someone out, they have 3 weeks to comply. That means plan a date to race and get your boat ready. John respectfully stepped aside to not hold up list movement while his boat was down. Not sure what is so hard to understand about that.

And David McKinley is (OnTheNos) ...you are Chris Henderson, right? I see you are FB friends. Don't play dumb.

I'm not sure. Oversight on my part as I was given the list by Jim. I just updated it as I saw he had called out John and John declined. My fault for assuming....but that's all irrelevant as Jim and James both dropped off the list.

There is no member of this forum with the name "pop rocks". That's the name of his boat. But you'd know that, right?

Thanks. I'm contemplating just getting rid of this whole top 10 thing altogether. Just brings bad vibes. People who aren't even on the list who have no intention of ever racing a list race are running their mouths. It's not just this thread. I see it all over. People just gotta be fuckin haters. Why continue on with something that brings so much negativity and zero positivity. This could have been a fun thing but the asshats had to shit all over it.

I agree with you. Unfortunately That is what we have to deal with in society now-a-days. People always hating on others.

On another note, some people do that shit on purpose because they know they are going to get a rise out of some people on this site. You are giving them what they want with you responding. Not worth the time, hassle, and stress brotha

Well Brad that right there is exactly where the confusion came from. If no race took place and no formal call out was made there should be no advancement. I'm not stirring the pot I'm just calling it like I see it. What's the point of rules if people one the list aren't following them let alone the founder calling names and cursing at people for questions regarding confusion in not only the rules of the list but advancement in the list as well.

And referring to my boat as non competitive I see everyone and their brother stating how fast their boat goes on this forum with no proof and their boats maybe run 70s. How I am personally ill cal anyone out on their bullshit when they say they are running 80s/90s I'd rather line up and then prove it.

Furthermore I think it's a bit ridiculous that the founder of SCJB just put down someone's boat who supports this group. YOU aren't SoCalJetBoats Brad. It's the people attending the events who are, the people who look up to the guys running in the top 5 as something to push forward to, the people buying all these stickers off of a game David McKinley started. I think you should reevaluate all the statements you've made today and reflect a little bit on them. Because if that's what SCJB is about I want no part of it

Not sure your need to keep this up my boat was ready for the call out date. Unfortunately John lost a piston and gave the spot up. As far as you and my friendship I don't know you. Now that I'm no longer on this list and you feel that we're all full of shit bring your boat and a few hundred and find out how ready my boat is. If that doesn't work for you just leave me out of your stories and we will be good thanks.

I don't really think we should let one or two guys ruin anything good and fun we have. There's a lot more people that enjoy having the fun and racing that this list deal offers than not. That's reason enough to keep it going. Sometimes you just have to ignore some people and take them for what they are. Hope everyone has a good day.

You're right when calling out the 9 spot but rules are rules and 4 was broken so no advancement should have been made from the 10 spot. I read that thread and you did that correctly when publicly making a call out but it was out of order. And the word Friends I used loosely if you misunderstood my statement. I've met and know plenty of people from off of this forum all whom are awesome people. And no thanks Jim about the race I just wanted to have fun but I guess because I'm an outsider I'll keep to myself. If you do end up back in the list by making correct call outs and advancing I wish you the best. That's one killer float you just finished recently...

So, your original post was about rule #8. Not about rule #4. Now that I pointed out the rule #4 issue because you were 'confused', you're jumping on that bandwagon and driving it further into the ground over a single technicality which is completely irrelevant and does not impact you as you are not a person who is involved here. Jim and James both said their piece and have both left the list but you are still here posting about it? Why?

Yes, I am not SCJB and all the members here make it up. I have always said that from day one for the past 10 years. No, I didn't put your boat down, just stated the facts weather you like it or not. I said it wasn't competitive. Not a pile of shit, or slow or anything of the sort.

Since it seems like you will sit here and twist my words and the rules to your favor to win this argument like the liberal media, I'm done. This thread and all other threads will be locked.

This subject is done because you just don't get it. Bring it up again and I will have you removed from the site. This list is for fun, not side sideline and bitch about the rules. In this situation, only person who should be allowed to bitch about the rules are the parties involved. Not just some guy behind a keyboard who doesn't have any desire to help the list, but only to just be "that guy". And you are "that guy".
