Well, I am sure you guys have seen some errors on here lately and last night I tried to fix them but ended up breaking a lot of stuff....and the errors are still there.

There are going to be a few features unavailable for some time. I will try to get them back up and running as soon as possible.

The following features are broken:

  • Member Map
  • Posting Various Media Formats within posts - (ex: wmv's, google video, youtube, etc. - pictures still work)
  • MySpace Profile Link
  • Donate Link

There are other admin functionality components that are broken as well, but my main concern was getting the forum back up and running smoothly and worry about the rest later.

The Gallery is still online, just not bridged into the forum. You can access it here: http://www.socaljetboats.com/cpg/
If it asks for a username and password, it is the same one you use for this forum. Please do not create new accounts on the gallery, as it will make a mess when I go to bridge it again with the forum.

The errors you will find are like this:

Quote
INTERNAL SERVER ERROR
An internal server error has occured!
Please try again later.

Also, if there is something more or less you want to see on these forums, let me know. I can add just about any functionality out there.

the more i work on the problems, the more hopeless it becomes that they are going to work again without a complete site overhaul.

I am looking into some options to where I wont have to start from scratch. Thats the last thing I want to do.

I made the location field inside the profiles manditory. So if you go to edit your profile, you will not be able to save your profile until you put a location. Also, it is now a part of the sign up process and required for all new users.

And also, your location will appear next to your username and avatar on the left
<<<--------------

One last thing....the member map is partially working. I am toubleshooting it in my new test environment, once i fix it, I will implement it on the production site.

This new test environment I have set up will prevent this site having any issues again due to upgrades. After this past upset, I really needed some sort of change control.

more later...

I'm having a hell of a time trying to figure out how to post pictures on this site! Could somebody give me
a quick lesson? I would appreciate it!

Are you getting an error, or just dont know how?

Here is some helpful information:

http://www.socaljetboats.com/index.php?action=help;page=post#additional

Just click the link "Additional Options..." at the bottom of your post. Theres options on how to attach them.

If you want to post a picture where you already have a URL for it, just use the image tags like this:

Code: [Select]
