I gave that a thought, but what is with the water issues there ??? Everyone says "Stay out of the water" What make Perris  a bad place? I know it's smaller but what else....... desicions...desicions... :banghead:

I'm not sure the water quality is any better at Perris but there is definitly less water in that lake these days.  I think there is a strict speed limit also, at Elsinore the only concern is water quality.  It's not that bad for just hang'n out but I wouldn't spend the day swimming in it or eating any sort of marine life that comes out of it.  There are a few coves down by the ski channel that are not too bad to beach and spend a few hours.

I live 20 minutes from Perris.  I make the 55 min. drive to Elsie 10 to 1 in comparison to how often I go to Perris.   Currently it will take you about 6 minutes to boat around the perimeter of Perris.  The 5 mph zone is bigger than the rest of the lake where the limit is 35 mph.  They are doing free overnight camping at Perris this weekend I believe.
No one ever gets sick at Elsie, the water just looks real bad.  Now Perris?  Dirty diapers and other causes have closed the beaches and made lots of people sick.  Just obey the boating laws and you will have no troubles at Elsinore.

Atleast you kept what counts.  The Seaport Launch ramp is pretty quiet and has plenty of space to park your rig.

Just FYI for any Noob's going to Lake Perris.  If the water is still waaay down (and I believe it is) all of that area behind the island is 5 mph.  If you decide you want to speed because the Rangers can't/won't see you there (A) you're wrong because they are often in trucks on the road at the base of the foothill and (B) some places are only a foot deep.  Under that 12 inches of water is a nice sandy bottom  .  .  .  sprinkled with rocks the size of large microwaves.   Just a friendly warning.

North, south, east, west will most likely F you up.  Nobody gets it right.   There is the city ramp off of Main St. or the Lake Elsinore West Marina at the near end of the lake if you are coming from Corona.   Coors Cove where you will find people who want to "see and be seen" is at the opposite far end from Corona, much closer to the City ramp off of Main St.  West Marina is a very flat ramp that will be ungodly slick in the summer heat but it is 8 lanes wide.  City ramp is newer, pretty steep and only about 2-3 lanes wide.  Campground is large and nice at Marina West if you want to stay awhile, but OBEY the guys in golf carts.  Yes they are assholes if you give them any reason at all.  On the other hand, the City ramp is where the Police are stationed.   Store at Marina West and nice bathrooms too.   Speed zone is unlimited mph but you MUST be out in the center of the lake.   Ski pattern is counter clockwise.  Be sure you have a horn, throwable, and fire extinguisher.    Enjoy!   It should be a great weekend.

I went to Perris once, first time on my boat.. 3 hours later I say what the heck?? got out, and went over to Lake Elsinore, Bigger GRIN on my face! theres a lot of jetboaters hang out at the cove.. good friendly people. I never got sick from hanging out in the water, but my friend did, he accidently swallowed water when he fell off of my boat.

Well we made it out saturday, despite the wind and we had a great time. I have to be honest Elsinore was way better than I expected. Yea the water was brown, the lake was choppy and the wind was blowing BUT...... I was finally out on the water again!! We hung out in the cove, met some new people and enjoyed a few cold  's. Hell even the Po Po came by and just waved and left. We're both looking forward to going back (next weekend I hope) Thanks again for the info and look forward to meeting you out on water.

Nice pics, Sundays usually has more of them, funday you know? good way to end weekend before heading back to work monday. Anyhow, about water being brown, i think its the alge from all the sun. When I went out there right after rain storm, it was not brown/green, but still.. Correct me if im wrong?
