Castaic this Saturday
« on: May 19, 2011, 12:54:39 PM »
I'll be out there for some more testing with the Rogers. Need to see if the carb is dialed in and if the water leaks are fixed. Temp won't be ideal as it will be like 75 degrees. My friend will be there also in his Hallett. His boat is brown metal flake. My boat is red/white/blue. Say hi if you see us. We'll get there at about 9 am

Mind the newly installed speed cameras!

Some pics from today. We ended up getting pulled over and given a warning. Fun day out on the lake. Weather was perfect and not too busy.  The brown boat is mu buddies '76 Halett 19' w/ BBC

I have no idea. They came outta nowhere! Pulled us for speeding amongst other things. They ended up inspecting our boats and running our registrations. Didn't end up citing us though which is pretty cool.

They recently installed about a dozen cameras around the lake, yes they watch you everywhere you go now, and yes the cameras also have radar speed detection built into them. Good times.

Not surprised.   Will be interesting to hear how much money they make of those cameras this year.

Me too, once I get my boat all dialed in. I'm still having some carburetor and water leakage issues. I'll be up at Castaic for a few hours this saturday again. Once my issues are resolved, I'll start to explore new waters.

I dont know how fast you can go at Piru. That place is like a washing machine with boats going any way they want.
Ill have to try Castaic again, havent been in awhile.  How are they for noise????

Mine was stiff when working it back and forth on the trailer.
Once I got it on the water and under power, it was amazing!

It's all about enforcing it. If you don't act stupid or are putting your self or other boaters in danger, you should be fine.

I wasn't acting stupid or putting other boaters in danger. The first time I got stopped was because my boat has AZ registration and fish & game needed to inspect my bilge for muscles. Sounds like theres a bit of a problem with boaters bringing them into California lakes. The second time I got stopped was because I was gettin on the motor a bit hard. I was in the process of dialing my carb in and I was having some issues while the motor was under load. I'll be back at Castaic again this Saturday.
