Welcome to the board riverman.

I can't help with the Crusader history, but I can help with the emblems.  The originals were chrome plated black plastic that faded and broke, and you probably will not find any decent originals.  I have made a nice aluminum reproduction if you decide to go that way.  Check it out.

If you are interested in a set, PM or e-mail me for details.

Crusader has done it all....They had quite a few different designs and have definitely changed with the times.

We have a 1987 23' mini offshore with a Bravo I I/O and a 454 that my dad found as a recovered theft and he built the whole enchilada...Badass boat, built well and killer hull designs, not many around. 8)

i had a 78 crusader miniday. awesome boat. Crusader made boats back in the 70s and early 80s. they went under like most boat companies do. they made some fishing boats in FL for a little while in the 90s and that is about all i know.

The emblems mentioned above are great. i had him make me a set for my crusader and they looked great. post up some pics of your boat so we can all check it out

Man, just about anything. Do you have any documentation on your old Crusader? Mine is the same model as your old one was....except I have a BBF and a Berk pump.

I know nothing of the company and cannot seem to find any info on Crusader.

Riverman, not trying to jack your thread....just paralleling your request for more information on these rare Crusader boats.

only info i had was the title.
a guy named stan owned it back in the day. as far as i know he sold all his hulls. some are being used by aftershock. I heard he will still make a boat or two but does not do the fiberglass layup anymore. he outsources that and then rigs the boats himself. I dont have any contact info on him but i could probably find it.

What exactly are you trying to find out about your boat? the year? what type?  The crusader miniday is a bad ass boat. it is a tuff as nails hull. even though i sank mine once. its a little on the heavy side but a great looking boat. My blue boat was one of the nicest olderminiday i have seen yet. i miss that boat. but only when i am not on my new boat. lol

Thanks. That's certainly alot more than I knew about Crusader before. I was looking for the history, perhaps an "Owners group" or something lime that. Do you have an old owners manual or any original documentation from your old mini day?

Ya, the Crusader mini day is certainly a heavy boat. I just bought mine in September and haven't got to use it for a whole season yet.

Right, the rabbit is too complex for WJ cutting.  If you do not find a set of originals hit me up for a set.  Looks like that boat gonna move pretty good.

I hand plotted it from the original emblem...took a long time.

I can see this is an old thread but last year I managed to snag an old 21' Crusader that was sitting in a yard of junk boats still on the original dual axel trailer. I grabbed it for free, but had to pay $500 for the trailer, it was well worth it! Unfortunately the boat had seen some hard times, sitting in the sun with no top, full of water, damaged transom, destroyed stringers and bulkheads, and animal infested interior, no motor or jet, and aged gel coat. I just could not walk away from this boat seeing the very strong hull, all chrome parts were mounted and still in perfect condition, original gauges intact, and the trailer was immaculate minus weathered tires and cut electrical!

We ran a title search immediately before anything and found out everything was clean and clear, and also found out this is a 1981! The most recent Crusader Mini-Day, and the last one made! From what we understand so far when the company folded they were bought out by another in which they took the last hull and finished it when they reopened around 1980/81 before taking on ocean boats. They then registered the hull and titled it as an 1981 as sold it.

I found this boat in August 2016, stored it in a storage dirt lot until November 2016 in the middle of the desert when we finally had some time to drive from Colorado, replace the wheels, repack the bearings, rewire the lights, and add a new jack. We hooked it up to our 3.0 CRD Jeep, and hauled it all the way home in Denver.

I've spent a good part of the last 9 months doing research, trying to track down information on this particular boat. We have found a very enthusiastic group of owners who seem to know bits and pieces of this boat, and yes it has the original emblems INTACT! Not bad for sitting in a junk yard for the last 13 years. Us having some brutal winters here, we haven't had much time to work on the boat, but as of yesterday I started to purchase some of the items needed to get underway for my new project. I am set on bringing this boat back to life and making it what I've always wanted.

I think this weekend I am going to start breaking out the transom and cleaning it up. The main goal of the project is to lighten up the boat as a whole, to compensate for the weight of the hull itself. I've chose to go with either Coosa Board, or one of it's competitors, and standard 1.5oz chop strand mat with 1708 biaxial with epoxy resin. I am thinking of using PL to bind the stringers and bulkheads to the hull tabbed in with 1708 unless I come across a better way before I actually get to work on that part of it.

I will post some picture soon! Hopefully someone is still active here.
