Ever Been Burned by a Board Member
« on: January 25, 2012, 08:49:03 PM »
Just as the title says. Long story short, bought some parts from a member in September, they were not as described and  I had given ample opportunity to make good on the deal as agreed to by the seller. But here were are months later and still no close to this deal. I wanted to take the nice guy approach since this is a fairly small group, but so far this has not gotten me anywhere. I know what has to be done to resolve this issue. and have already put it in motion. Just feel it should have never come to this  Overall very dissapointed in the whole deal.

i have bought pretty much everything on my boat from either here, craigslist, or RDP.  i will say without a doubt that ive had nothing but great success and great help from many.  i thank everyone who has helped me get to where i am today.

unfortunately there are some bad eggs who dont use forums as a community but as a tool to sell their junk, they dont participate they just lurk the for sale sections.

i think its great before doing anything you gave them the opportunity to make it right.  however i think for others sakes that you take it up with the management of the boards (not making it public) so they can either just hear you out, or take action.  id hate for whatever you bought to be a possible safety risk, damaged, whatever and possibly injure yourself or anyone else on the boards.

Agreed thats why I have named no names and have given the readers digest version. Guy knows the parts are bad and appologised up and down for it swearing to make right and, no dice..... avoiding texts and phone calls. I will not name names and will not expand further into the details. I know he is on here and all the other forums( I will keep this to this forum only) I feel he is not a bad guy, just not doing the right thing, wich is very TOOLish.Oh and it is not a safety risk at all, I ended up having to buy another part to make the set I bought a whole. Now so far into these parts that I would have saved money to just buy new.

Are you really THIS retarded????????? :screwy: :screwy: :screwy:

I can not believe I am reading this!!

I sold you a set of motor mounts , the front mount ended up being warped. I offered you your money back sooo many times , through pm's , through phone calls and through texts!!!!
you told me you did not want your money back , instead you wanted me to try and find you a different front mount!!
You then located a front mount on your own and I told you I would reimburse you for the part , but you had to wait till I got paid cause it was right before Christmas!! You said OK no problem , then turned around and tried to do a Paypal charge back!! I have not herd from you since.
Now I come on here and see this shit!!
You are the reason people don't want to sell shit online!!

So be honest and tell everyone how many times I offered you your money back and you declined!!!!!!!!

I am not even gonna respond to this thread any more , Go Fu@k yourself!!!!!! :screwy:  :banghead:

Have you even priced a NEW set of mounts before you make dumb comments??

Marc, since you chose to out your self..... There is this thin called a phone when something doesn't work you pick it up an call, like I did multiple times so much so that you stopped answering said calls. I even tried getting ahold of you after the date you said I had to wait until for your pay to hit your bank.... But still no response. You and I know the truth, and I am good with that. All I have to say is Karma is a bitch Marc.I'm done with this shit, your true colors are finally showing through.

Brad if you see fit to delete this thread go ahead man I'm good with it

Have you noticed his Karma points.  Marc is a stand up guy (when he isn't drinking) and a pretty decent bartender (when he is drinking).

So then my situation was just an isolated incident? Like I said in a previous post I don't think you're a bad guy just a screwed up deal...dude I tried getting ahold of you after the time you wanted me to wait and you never got back to me. How am I supposed to feel Marc? That's cool that you have good karma points makes no difference to me.I got sold bum parts, you didn't know I didn't know until later. Like I said lets square up if you want..... If you want to leave it on "go **** yourself" then that's fine too. Like I said I've already started the process of resolving this without you. The ball is in your court, like it has been for the last few months.

I know what has to be done to resolve this issue. and have already put it in motion.

Like I said I've already started the process of resolving this without you.

I didn't want to get involved, but lets cut the childish bullshit. First off I don't agree with coming on here and indirectly calling him out was a good idea at all. Then these vague threats (quoted above) are pretty chicken shit to add to it. Cut the bullshit and tell us what youre really going to do.

I know about this whole deal. Marc contacted me months ago about it from the beginning because I actually sold him those mounts a long time ago. I as well had no idea the front one was bent. I asked him what he wanted to do about it and he said he was gunna look around to see if he could find a spare. I think later he said he wasnt able to find one and said he was still trying to resolve it with you. From that point you admit you had contact with him before Christmas and he said he needed to get some money together because it was tight because of the holidays. Christmas was 30 days ago - not months. It sounds like you got a little impatient for him to make right on the deal.

One thing that needs to be understood in most dealings on this site - this is a hobby for 90% of us on here. Not a business. This even goes for the stickers n crap I sell. My life doesnt depend on sticker sales. If only you guys knew what I put into this site vs what I get in return - you'd realize I'm outta my mind - but thats a whole different story.

I am sure Marc will make right on this - and if I need to make right with marc, I will if he feels hes been wronged by me.

And for the record I am not siding here with Marc either.

Brad I understand your view. I have a dispute with my credit card company going to resolve this. like I said I waited for the money/part, but texts/phonecalls stopped getting answered. like I said before parts were dammaged he didn't know and I didn't know until it was brought to attention when I un packaged the parts. The reason why I say months is because the whole deal has been going on since October. Yes I wanted a new mount instead of a full refund(at first) because I felt that Marc genuinely did not know the parts were dammaged. You know what I mean sometimes shit happens and I feel really the parts being sold is a case of just that. My problem is that a deal was then made and was never completed. When I found a mount(took one phone call) I let Marc know and again a deal was made for Marc to order the part(never happened). So I ended up ordering it(almost two weeks later). Again got ahold of Marc and reached an agreement that he would reimburse the price of the part(i would eat the shipping), he said i would have to wait until he got paid, which was around Christmas. I said that is fine as long as it happens....Well it never happened and that was the last I heard from him until this. Like I said before I don't think he is a bad guy I think the ball was just dropped. As far as you making things right with Marc that is your business not mine and you guys do what you see fit. As far as the call out. you are right it was a bit childish, but how would you feel if you were in my shoes  and the guy you bought the parts from cut all forms of comunication? This was the only way to get a response. And yes I know call out threads damn near never end well. In retrospect yes that is my fault  and I was not looking that far ahead. Like I said before Brad dowhat you see fit with this thread I appologise for crapping on your site.,

I love how you leave out the part of after 3 days after our last call when I told you to wait till I get paid , I get a email from paypal saying you tried to do a chargeback! I get paid everyother week and told you that , 3 days later you try a charge back and now your calling your credit card company! I feel that by trying to do the charge back and not returning the mounts is basicaly stealing from me! Have fun with your mounts and all your money back!

You have not tried to contact me in any way , shape or form sine the failed paypal attempt! And before the failed paypal attempt , I had missed one call from you!

You have already contacted your credit card company so lets just end this on a " Go Fu*k Yourself!!"

Fine by me Marc, your facts are a little skewed. I was not wanting all my money back just the amount for the part. I had no problem sending you the part back, but the deal never got that far. Sorry dude but $150 is not hard to come by. That is all that was being disputed, not the full $200 plus shipping that it initially cost. Also I do not appreciate you calling me a thief. I never stole anything and never would, YOU sold bum parts all I asked was for the deal to be made good that is not stealing. But,whatever  what's done is done have a nice night

I sold Marc some parts that I thought were different then they turned out to be. I felt really bad about it, and offered a refund, but he understood and kept them anyway. He is a standup guy in my opinion. I'm really not taking sides because I don't know the details, but just me .02 based on experience

just out of curiousity how do u bend an engine mount?  if we're talking about a plate mount cant you just bend it back into shape?  i figure its strong enough to hold a 500hp motor, you'd have to drive a car on it to bend 3/8" alum.

how bad is it bent? I'm sure if you tighten it down with the mounting bolts the block won't bend with it.

For what its worth, everything I've bought or sold on here is to help other boaters out, not to make a buck or to take others money. $200.00 suck it up.

I've got no dog in this fight. Parts are repairable 95% of the time. In my opinion if its just warped a little when bolted on and it bugs you that much then buy brand new.
