more polishing
« on: January 20, 2012, 05:03:19 PM »
in between working on all my projects, my work truck gets in the way and requires attention from time to time. I'm hoping if it looks nicer i will get harassed by the highway patrol less so i decided to clean up some. after talking to a bunch of polishers, everyone told not to waist my time with these and just buy new wheels. i don't have that kind of coin so with a bunch of sanding , polishing, buffing and 6 hrs per wheel, here is how they look.  now i have some good practice and my boat is going to look sweet...

I'd be willing to bet you'll never let those wheels go to hell again. Quick touch-ups by hand every now and then will keep them good forever. I always had to cover the polished wheels on my old Ford that always sat. Neighborhood cats and their piss etch that shit.

I try to keep all my aluminum polished because it is way easier to give it a quick buff and it looks new vs's letting them go to hell and trying to bring it back. these came like this on the truck when i got it , made in 87 and never polished and still had the machine grooves on the entire set . i kept putting it off because i knew it was going to be a bitch, now it won't be so bad. i also know about animal piss, my dogs was like acid .
