New Boat
« on: March 01, 2020, 09:39:01 AM »
Hey guys. I’m new to jet boats. I’ve just picked up a Rogers boat with a 454 and Berk 12J3 pump. I’ve read some people refer to these as “toilet bowl” pumps. Just wanted to see if anyone had any more information on these.

Nothing wrong with a JC pump.
Its just not a split bowl.
You already have a diverter on it.
G bowl will fit right on. (Split bowl)
Intakes are virtually identical to the newer versions.
Same with suction housing.
Impeller to wear ring clearances will make a huge difference.
Loaders are available.
My JC pump has both a loader and a ride plate and shoe. Diverter too.

Yes there is better set-ups, but you have a solid foundation.

That's a split bowl in the 2nd picture and it has a wedge installed.  It's probably a JB pump.  Yes, it's good and worth building.

Looks like you got a pretty nice boat.  Welcome to SCJB
