Open Headers?
« on: May 05, 2009, 09:45:24 AM »
How strict do you think they are in Parker on loud exhaust? I have been going up and the river for years with zoomies, dry headers and logs. 2 years ago with my blown deal got stopped by water cops he just wanted to see the engine! I had open headers!
Right now I have a 2yr. old son and have logs but I just can't drive a stock piece anymore! :'( What do you guys think? Since I was a kid hearing the BAD-A$$ boats was just part of the river! Thanks!

You should not have a problem on the river  ;D

The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

That's what I'm understanding. After putting baffles in the Moo boat, went to Saguaro to see three others running open headers here too (Supposedly the restrictions are tighter on this lake than any other). Baffles came out this morning, who needs 'em, lol

Did they site you or just tell you to trailer it? We have a blown injected deal we want to just late afternoon putt ::) around. I can handle the trailer but don't want some huge noise ticket.
Funny since I was a kid which is a LONG time ago we used to get up early and hang out around dinner just to see the Bad-A$$ boats run. Noise was 1/2 the fun!

That is still true, everyone still, even at the marina bars, gather to watch what they hear as potential bad ass boats run. Had a Deputy do so on the dock at Bartlett a few weeks ago, I think.

So what's the problem?

I think as long as you don't drive like an ass, you're ok.

Just my Personal Opinion.

Ray

And why the hell would you just want to "Putt" around in a blown and injected boat? THAT is rediculous!

I started thinking last night about those salmon eggs in my grandpas Glastron and was talking to my brother, we were cracking up because that boat smelled so bad like fish and bait but we all had a blast and learned to water ski behind it. Remember the kids double skiis with the rope between them?

Never seen 'em, but did remind me of the first time my crazy ass uncle got me up on skis on the Ohio river. I musta been about 10 or so, and once I got up finally he decided to see how fast and crazy he needed to go to knock me off!. He had an old Sidewinder at the time, 455 Olds if memory serves me right, and wasn't fast at all by our standards, but blistering to a 10 year old.

Didn't take long, and I like an idiot, listened to him telling me "You almost had it that time, try this and this, and I'll try and slow down a bit". Fell for that sheit 6 times! He still tells that story to his grandkids. Somewhere is an 8mm film of the events from my horrified mother on the dock, lol.

He did nearly the same thing to me after I moved out here and he had his Blown Biesemeyer, I was 30 something at the time then. yup, he got me again and again at Saguaro Lake. The phucker is a talker!
