If your boat is running well and you don't expect any problems you should launch at the Riverside Hotel, it's free. I like to stay at the Aquarius Hotel because it's along the strip. Spend a day at Katherine's landing where you can launch into the Mahove River. I prefer princess cove myself. There are several places to eat in the hotel's & the hotel's provide for boat parking.

Water moves way fast out there...either go way down river to board or Mohave early before the wind.

i would say stay at the avi
it has a free boat ramp and beach if you stay there
casino is attached
secure boat parking at night that is patrolled by security.
Laughlin is just a few mins up the road or the river.
When  you turn your boat on... does it return the favor?

I would stay in laughlin they have several hotels/casinos to stay all have pretty good prices, but i would launch from kathrines landing if never been there before head up the river about 3 miles on the left hand side they have a big cove with nice beaches where you can wake board all day and no one will even mess with you......

I don't know if you want to deal with currents and such from the Colorado river or if you want the open-ness of lake Mohave. Only bad thing about Mohave is if a pretty good wind comes up it can get a bit rough. Don't know what kind of boat or size of boat you have so that might not even be an issue for you. If you go to the lake you can launch at Katherine's landing. But Katherine's turns into a zoo when it gets busy in the afternoons. I like princess cove at the lake. Or if you go to the river you can launch at a number of places such as big bend, riverside launch, or on arizona side there is bullhead community park or rotary park. As you can see you have a lot of choices.

This is from a couple years ago with my boys playing out in mohave... always have a good time out there if you have a truck you could launch from the beach across princess cove no money $$ to launch and just up the roads from the casino.... will be out there from the 7th-13th of July

Well the only casino you can really beach your boat on the sand is the avi. Like aquaholic said they have boat parking that is patrolled by casino security. They have a nice sandy beach and quite a few places to eat inside. At the lake the only place to eat is at Katherine's landing. I think they have a little restaurant right by the launch ramp. Could be wrong though. Never been into the place. And like I said in my previous post I don't launch at Katherine's. And yes I believe you will be fine with your v drive wake boat on the river. Just read the water. It will tell you where it's safe or not. Keep to the dark colored water. Stay away from where the water is all ripples, that means it is shallow and a rock bar or sand bar is present. The water release at Davis dam varies in the times it gets to maximum release each day (5 units). Usually in between 9am-11am it will get to 5 units then last until around 8 at night. But keep in mind the water may be 5 units up by the casinos in laughlin at the time of release, but it will take 3 hours or so for the water to get down to the avi before its gets to 5 units down there. I hope I'm not confusing you. The lake would be easier.....warmer water, no shallow spots, plenty of room to play. But it all depends on what you want. No places to eat at the lake besides Katherine's and I don't even know for sure if that is still there. Again sorry if I am just confusing you by babbling on like this.
