Hey guys I just picked up a 22 mini day tahiti from a friend (should be coming home on the weeknd of the 24th) but it has a Jacuzzi WJ. I would like to change to a Berk 12-JC (split if you got it) with out breaking the bank. So looking for Berk 12-JC what do you have...

I got a Berk 12 JG, split bowl, and it's original intake, etc. Pumps been rebuilt, bowl has had a lot of tuning work done (Not by me, before I got it), intake is machined for a shoe and a ride plate. Lemme know.

What are you looking to gain by switching to a Berk?

If it was a YJ I wouldn't question the change, but I don't believe the Berk is going to make much difference compared to the WJ, at lease not in a 22 footer.

I agree Kieth. Shit if my boat had a wj instead of my yj I'd be happy with it. Talk to Tom at jet boat performance he'll get you wherever you wanna be with that wj.

The reason I said Berkeley is this is only my second boat. The first being a little Kona with a Berk JC. I am not familiar with any other brands. The float is a 22' miniday so its rather large. With the weight and size I want to attempt to get into the 60mph range which may or may not happen but I am not sure this is achievable with the Jacuzzi WJ as I know nothing about the Jacuzzi pumps, but do know that there is a place diverter Looking to build the motor at about 450hp.

There shouldn't be any reason you don't see 50 out of that w/ 450 HP. Shit I was seeing just shy of 50 with a small block olds and a yj. Now who knows what my HP is with a 455 and the same yj and its considerably faster ill find out how much faster Sunday.

You already have the best upgrade you could do for a WJ (the diverter  ).  The WJ isn't going to be the limiting factor in running 60's.  The weight and the shape/condition of the bottom will affect your top speed more than the pump.

Personally I would recommend using the money you would spend the Berk on engine upgrades to help performance & longevity (a good intake, carb & cam combo, improved ignition system, roller rockers...).

Need to get this into the 60's next season to be happy with the purchase and project. If you guys believe its doable with the WJ and diverter then I will keep the pump in it until after i get the motor completed and actually give it ago. Im not opposed to the jacuzzi just feel that the berk would get me there with less effort.
