Hey Jake, if Friday and Saturday get blown out, will anything happen Sunday if the weather is good?

What does it take to enter for a first timer?  No Comp Jet racing this week end so I'm thinking about drag racing.  I have a Rogers 18 jet with a 468 cid LSX small block, NA, EFI on E85.  It runs 96 mph gps on a good day.  Looking for rules, cost, safety gear etc.  Do I need a rope deflector?

Both days of qualifying were blown out and called. They arranged the ladders based on a combination of points standings and pulling names out of a hat. Wind is still blowing this morning, but not as bad... Still some pretty good gusts causing slight delays. They have run top fuel, alcohol hydro, and pro mods thus far. Jake and I are still waiting for warm-up calls for Top Eliminator 8.0 (Jake) and Quick Eliminator 6.0 (me)... Figure at least another hour, but who knows. Been a really frustrating weekend to say the least... And the fact that we do not even get 1 test or qualifying pass before eliminations, makes the frustration even worse. The up side is... EVERYBODY is in the same boat (oh how I love my puns)... And at this point, it's gonna be 60% luck.

Jake went out first round... Boat was there... Just a little bit quick on the light... .09 redlight.

We're still in... A little luck on our side... Hope it holds up. Ran 6.23 @130... Boat was unloading like crazy due to the gnarly cross wind at 3/4 track.

Still in... Just got past the second round against Hydro Silver. Only one of two jets left in the QE 6.0 class. Water conditions are pretty rough... And the side wind gusts are taking a bit of driving to compensate for. Boat is unloading from about half track onwards. I'm off to see who we're up against next.

Uh-oh... Got Arek Stromenger in the 1953 Guess Who's Back TPR stealth. He and I are the last two jets in. Looks like we're gonna have a single vs double pickle showdown... Old school vs new... Wish us old schoolers luck.
