At the drivers meeting, the majority voted to change the date of the lake ming race from Sept 26/27 to Oct 3/4 due to the San Diego Bay Fair event being the previous weekend. I got a email from Ross today stating that he was unable to change the date after all.
So the Lake Ming race date remains on Sept 26/27

-
How about Glen Dilworth?
-
After talking to Mark, the only boat coming from Idano will be him 203.

What, no belt driven Margarita maker? You could run it off the driveshaft/pump like an alternator

Make sure you fill that tank, then I may have a chance of keeping up with you.

I assumed it was an 18'-19' Schiada. Which hull are you running. Any pics?Don't you just love the prerace head games!
All my cards are on the table. Everyone knows what I got, it aint much, but it helps the boat count and i'm having fun going in circles.
-
Don't worry I have removed the deck gun and airplane deck, just so I can stay close.

Between you with your guns and Lance with his torpedos whats a Jap like me supposed to do. Only one thing left, I guess i'll just have to take you out Kamakazi style. :D
-
Be very afraid-if I wear my kilt you will die laughing before you ever hit the water!
-
I'm laughing already. I think you should dance around the pits handing out lucky charms.
-
That is the Irish, scots dance around the swords of the losers.

Sounds good, Bull. Is your boat ready.
The only things I have to do is change the oil and adjust the carb (Burley was at 4200' elevation).
Things I may do
1) Picked up an oil cooler. May plumb that in, oil has been running 250-260 degrees
2) Harold Bruce got me another fin, but I have to cut an access hole in my floor to get to the bottom. The fin thats in it now is to far back and the boat pushes in the corners.
3)I may send my shoe up to Harold to have him back cut it and maybe loosen the boat up a little.
-
I run the water to the cooler first - about 230. 180 water. The fin thing is new to me, I think it is set right. Instaling a new tach, but other than that ready to go. Have tools ready to help at Ming.
-
Hey 76 - Did you get your oil cooler in?
-
Probably wont work on the boat until sunday when it cools off. It's a 102* out on the patio right now. Besides it been a tough day already. My son and I just got back from surfing at Carlsbad, I need a nap.
-
Hey Bull, are you running those Hooker dry headers.
-
Yes indeed, they look and work great. Set back and relax, surfing is hard work; in my day the boards floated you - but no leashes.

I just gave my 1964 10' Bing Board to my niece last week.
Do you run a cooler on your boat. If so does yours mount to the stringer or block. Mine is suppose to mount to the block, but seems like you'd have problems with the oil filter.
-
ah-once again idefeat you; I have a 1960 Bragg. Mine mounts ok the block, foward of the filter. Lots of hose and some brackets and your in.
-
Ross reports that we may be in danger of loosing Ming, due to low boat count, but he said that he is working on it. Keep your finger crossed!
-
Bull, did you talk to Ross or fead it on the boards somewhere?
Sounds like we have plenty of comp jets, who's not showing up?
-
its the same ol song and dance every year.
additionally, lack of planning because theres conflicting dates. The san diego bay fair is the weekend before that the majority of all the other classes are attending, plus theres some kilo's a week or two after....and theres some other memorial race somewhere else i heard about.
wish some of these boat racing org's would pull their head out of their ass and work together on spacing stuff out....including events with the NJBA.
-
Ross information via Email - as of today. I asked about the the race and he responded.
-
Thanks Bull, now I dont feel so bad about not working on the boat this weekend.
-
Don't give up yet - Ross is still working on it. I did but the tach in mine and mount the GPS mount, but that's about it.
-
I did mount the oil cooler on another block in my garage for mock up. Seams like it will clear the rail kit but now where to put the remote oil filter.
-
I use the stock filter mount on the block and plumb in the cooler lines off the byepass ports.
-
The race is officialy canceled - POOP!
-
So that means this year is done.
Start planning for the 2010 season opener at the Blue Water over Thanksgiving.
