Title: Kill Switch for NJ/NF
Post by: Wild Bill on February 29, 2008, 01:06:19 PM
Hi Guys,

Is there a particular type of kill switch required to meet specs for NJ/NF?

What are you guys using?

Thx!

This is our most popular version of a racing kill switch (http://www.cpperformance.com/products/Electrical/switches-ignition-kill.htm?mtc=4). Not 100% about being APBA certified though, maybe someone else will chime
in.

Good Luck,
Brad

I built my own using a single pole single throw push pull temporary on when pulled.  Turned a new knob out of aluminum stock with a wide shoulder at the base.  Then I made a small Delron clip that held the knob out engaging the switch.  The clip I attached to my jacket with some nylon cord.  I realy liked it because the clip weighed next to nothing and I wasn't concerned about it hitting me while I was being tossed from the boat. ( "you could put your eye out with that thing") APBA passed it when they had me fire up and pull the clip.

Thanks a lot guys! Can it be mounted anywhere as long as it releases if you're thrown out?

I think so , A suggestion , Mine is mounted under my seat , between my legs so I cant go far before it gets pulled .
