Heard SCSC is hosting a race at Ming.

Are the Comp Jets running this event?

Bull, if their not running the N/J's, come run the C/J's.
I'm only running 80 mph on a good day.
Small motor, heavy boat = 80.6 best

I went out to Ming today, talked to Lt. Boardman (he runs the KC parks dept.) They're doing punch list today, taking the coffer dams out and letting the water flow this week with an opening on Monday. I took some pics, but my camera seems to have eaten them  :banghead:  The Lt did tell me that he's already spoken with NJBA and they're def on for September, made no mention of the circle races. At any rate, I'll be there, Brad, Ralph, Marc, & anyone else that needs it, I have 2 extra bedrooms, a ton of floorspace, an L shaped couch and a pool, just let me know who needs what.

Skip

See you **** in Long Beach  ;D

19 ft. Schiada, with a 468 Government Motor Corp. @ 13 to 1. Nothing too special. I am hopping for a long race, as this thing will carry 100 gallons of go juice.

Classic Ride you got there.
That combo should put out some good mph 85-90+. At least in c/j you wont have to worry about breaking out.
I'm only running a 427 and i'm surprised its run all season.

Classic is a good word for that boat, it is the first 19 made and carries hull no.1 ID tag.

Yeah it does, way better in person too, the angle of the ramp isn't nearly what it was, they dredged out 30" of goo from the pit areas, nice paving, nice shitters now too.

Call me, I need to pick up hats and be on the road to LBC no later than 1:30 or 2:00.  Morning is good, the gate's open at 6! I talked to the LT out there, normal rules apply everywhere on the lake EXCEPT, the back side, he told me as long as the boat doesn't leave the water, you can run as fast as you want to  >:D >:D >:D

Skip,  Did they make the ramps smaller ?   Doesn't look like you could launch 3 boats wide anymore.

I didn't pay attention to it really, but they didn't seem any smaller.

What is the story with Ming; can you run a race ready boat or due you have to have wet stacks, baffles and spark arrester intake or what?

On Thursday mornings, for like $50 you can run whatever the hell you want to! Full blown race boat is part of that, zoomies, blowers, nitro, no matter.

I have been running mine wet minus the spark arrestors and have not had any problems yet. Thats at buena vista though.

Thanks guys - I have run BV that way also, but I did not know about the Ming thing. I might give that a try. A long drive from Torrance, but could be fun.
