I have a 75 Tahiti with a 454ci Big Chevy and the issue I noticed yesterday was that the front of the motor has a set of motor mounts but the rear is bolted to the Berkeley and nothing else. Now Im planning on upgrading my heads to some Merlins and a high rise intake. Im hoping to see 500HP and drag race the boat as well. So my question is should I invest in a mount for the rear of the motor or is the pump enough to hold it in place?
Any help would be great.

Sounds like a 3 point like I have....these guys are a great source of info....But post pictures....illustrates what you are talking about

I personally would go to a rail kit if you're looking for big HP. Just for sake of not stressing the pump or the hull at the intake

Heres some of the pics of the mounts... The rails have been replaced it seems. The mount in the rear seems quite thick and stout but I am still concerned of the stresses on the transom and Rear hull.

The stresses on the transom would be minimal as all the thrust force generated by the jet are transmitted to the hull through the intake bonded to the keel. Any loading from the engine will also be transmitted into the hull through the intake via the epoxy.
With that being said, I did notice a significant amount of movement at the stringer mounts of my blown/injected deal, but that was also with full stringers and full floor.
If you are noticing any kind of movement now you might ensure that your stringers are indeed sound. A rail kit won't fix a loose stringer.

I have not noticed any movement to date but the whole boat reacts to the gas pedal. The guy I purchased the boat from included the stringers were replaced at some point. The floor is new as well as the stringers below so it seems I have a stable foundation to start with. I entered the jet boat hobby in February of this year from building hot rod cars and believe me saying that this is a kick a** hot rod boat...
