That's freeking rad though.  Way to be on finding an exact match!

Cool boat Brad, I like the lower profile cruisers.
Looks like you got the upgraded motor option too, no peanut heads there.
Now we need to see some pics of it in the water.

Now we need to see some pics of it in the water.

we're shooting for tomorrow on lake mead.

Unfortunetly, as clean as this boat is, it has some mintor problems that need to be addressed before we go out.

its got a REAL bad gas leak....i smelled it right away when we pulled the cover off when i showed up to look at it....even after towing it 15 minutes over to jim brocks shop, he smelled it too.

then i had it parked on my driveway as you see in the pictures....nose is facing down a bit....well, the wind kicked up and it started to rain a little so i grabbed the cover from under the bow....it was soaked in gas. both tanks were topped off so i think its just got a rotted filler neck. Not a big deal as this is common.

also, it idles a bit rough....i took it by jim brocks right after i purchased it since he was right down the road....he suggesting doing a minor tune up (points, plugs, etc)

and the one big nerve racking thing is there is a real loud knock on one of the valve covers....it only does it 2-3 times right upon startup. im hoping its either a sticky lifter (due to the amount of sitting it does) or the rocker is just loose.

Operation Southwind begins today. Chromey and maybe bloody fingers 1980nordie are going to come over today and knock this shit out ...then head for mead in the morning on sunday.

the problem with that is that some of the parts to be used for the 'spare' motor would have to come from the pile of parts for the 'race' motor.

either run the cheb or the 514 redneck 429 sits trackside longer.

now thats what im talkin bout

 :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

so this boat is turning out to be MUCH more of a project then I ever wanted it to be. Every corner I turned, every angel and perspective I took...the more i dug into it....it rendered MORE and MORE work this boat needs.

I am running late to work. I will post pics/explination later this evening.

im going with option #4......do a 1 week thrash session on it.....there is a lot of sleepless nights (days in my case) in the near future. My plan is to have it on the water 100% completed (no short cuts, its going to be done right) no later then next weekend to do a shakedown of it so its ready to roll in parker the following weekend. The odds are against me with the amount of work that needs to be done. But I had a TON of help from chromey and chief broken finger (nordie) today. It was very discouraging today, but i am determind to not let this boat fail me.
