Two winters ago, the wife and I ran up to Fresno and picked up this 20' Spectra daycruiser. 460/berk nothing special (except a dead pigeon under the deck). The trailer was so sketchy that I almost didn't buy the boat because I didn't want to be stranded on the drive home. I got the guy to come down from 2K to $1600 and after a stop at Home Depot for some safety chains, we were headed home. My buddy took one look at it, and from then on it has been known as That 70's Boat.
The trailer is now at River Dad's being brought into the 21 century so the boards won't be held on by duct tape and bungees anymore. Adding brakes just cuz I'm a baller (not) and a few other odds and ends, then it will be off to the lake so I can find out exactly what the boat is gonna need. Wish me luck . . .
Yeah ya pics to follow >:D

Sorry but this was the best quality camera I could find on short notice.

Nice float  Looks like you got a smokin deal. Need alot of work? Can't tell by the pics. Surprised that a baller like you don't have a better camera >:D >:D >:D LOL

As far as I know now, it doesn't really need anything other than a real good cleaning. No stringers to worry about or subfloor to rot. Bottom is cherry. The motor ran when I bought it but I havne't started it since. Supposedly the pump was rebuilt 2 or 3 years before I got it. It had a big piece of cardboard in it and that's why it wouldnt run for the guy last time out. 30 pack of Coors was still in it when I got there. Jump seats and engine cover need rebuilding but everything else seems solid. Silly windscreen is broken but complete. Bow eye needs reglassing and the swim deck has a broken corner from the idiots strapping it down so tightly. That is about all I know at this point.

Gonna be a good boat, John!
Now, we paint it purple, with flowers, peace signs and Mary Jane leaves, all will be well! ;)

That's why my email and handle on RDP is Plum Loco. My Horizon that hasn't seen the light of day in over 10 years was metalflake purple. It came with the name already on it from the original owner. I had it repainted "rasberry" in the late 80's. I say it came out pretty damn close to Pepto Bismol pink. The dumbass drunk mexican that gelled it says it is rasberry cuz it says so right on the can. Whatever. I kinda like the color whatever it is though. Chicks dig it and you will never see another one like it.
Peace signs? Nah. After seeing the rainbow decal in Omar's truck, I was thinking I might go that route. NOT!
And the MJ leaves are always kept inside in a waterproof container. No need to advertise cuz then everyone would want a ride. LOL

I like Spectras, they're good boats. Looks like you got yourself a nice cruiser there. I see you're in Redlands. You wouldn't happen to live near the corner of Center and North would you?
-
Not quite. Fern and San mateo are the two major x streets
-
The last time I was down in Redlands I rode down Fern and I recall seeing an older jet boat out on the street. I wonder if that was yours. Whenever I go, I stay on Fern and Center which isn't too far from you. I named my Rogers "Center North" and the reason why I di that is a really long story....
-
I'm really diggin the thing John! The more I look at it, the more I miss my Biesemeyer..... :'(
Whatever you do, don't paint "Burn" anywhere on it! 8)
I'll call you tomorrow about the carb. Funny, as the carb I have in mind for you I got from Jason to begin with, :screwy: But it's off a running engine, and I actually ran it on Pickle a few months ago before my 850 was ready. works fine! ;)
