pics, most boats were splashes.
Stay away from the olds if you can help it.

I just found it on Craigslist in new jersey listed for $4000 .I really like my 77 Kona but it's not nearly as good as shape as this sutphen looks...I would be giving up my 460 for an Olds. Bad idea?

Yes.
What's in worse shape about the Kona?
Gel coat can be buffed and upholstery it's about $2500 in a 18' boat.
The way I see is, the Olds is a grenade with the pin pulled.....I've seen it over and over again.
The ones that have survived, people have kept a very close eye on.

Sutphen is mostly known for offshore type race boats.

Splash; Taking another hull and making an new mold from it. Making it the property of the new mold maker. Became highly illegal in the late seventies, does not mean it stopped though... Basically stealing the design to make a hull with minimal changes and calling it their own design.
