i have posted about my boat here a few times but i know the history of my boat bc i know the original owner and it i amazing that this boat is still on the water. lol
U bought the boat from my Grandma in july. I have since Wetsanded it, put in new plugs, wires and an HEI distributor.

My grandparents owned it for about 20 years (10 of which they were co-owners with the original owner)
While they had it my grandpa remade the interior but i dont know if he did the upholstry tho.
when the original owner had it he took it up the Mississippi and Missouri river. It has also been to Catalina island and back. The boat was mostly ran on the Big River stretch of the river. the original owner has also sank it, beached it and rebuilt the motor. the last time her rebuilt it was before last season and before that was in the late 80's.

that's an awesome story! definately something to keep! That's when the setimental value is way higher then the actual selling price! Im going through the same thing with many many things that are family airlooms! And to boot you got that boat looking good!!!!!

I hope you don't mind a newby question here but what drove the popularity of the jet boats? Was it strickly performance or water conditions? The reason that I ask is there seems to be so many boats available and in such great shape in your area. I Have seen very few in my area and I am always looking.

Not many people can say they know of the entire history of their boat. I know that I can't. When I bought my boat last year, I knew nothing about it. The guy I bought it from only had it for about 4 years and he was not the talkative kind. Up until about 2 months ago, it was just a boat to me. Then all of a sudden, out of nowhere a fellow member on this site saw the pics of my boat and let me know that he owned it for the first 10 years. from that point forward, I can honestly say that the boat took on a whole new meaning. He had some interesting stories to share and he also showed me some pics of my boat when it was new. Never in a million years did I think my boat ever looked like that. Now...if I can only somehow track down the second owner... :)

I don't know the definite answer but it may have something to do with skier safety???
