My Boat
« on: January 25, 2011, 01:02:57 PM »
Hello everyone, I was given this site by a friend and think it's pretty cool. I was hoping that someone might be able to give me some info on the value of my boat. I have a 1972 Schuster with a chevy 454. It has the original Bay Jet pump on the back, which was bought out by Berkley. A guy saw my boat at my house and stopped to offer me $4000 for it. He said that it was a classic. I was hoping someone could possibly know something about the value of this boat and let me know exactly what I have. Thanks

Weclome to the site Rob. There is a tutorial on this site on how to post pictures, but its for the old site format (the site recently went through a large upgrade).

Let me update the tutorial and I will link you to it.

There are a lot of very knowledgeable people here, everyone would have a better idea if they saw the boat.  It could be worth anywhere from $0 to who knows how much.  Do you have any history on the boat?  Have the engine or pump been rebuilt at all?  Hows the gel coat and interior?

The more information you can provide the better idea we have

Here are some instructions on how to post pictures on this site.

kinda tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, its pretty easy. Let me know if you have any questions.

Welcome to SCJB  ;D

For someone to offer $4000 in this economy it has to be in pretty good condition, considering the Bayjet isn't helping the value of the boat any.

I'm blown away everyone.  Thank You. I will get some pics up of the boat. I pretty much knew the bay jet is obsolete and no one would care about it. I had to do some research about it myself. For a 1972 its in great shape. I do not believe it is the original engine, but it does scream! I will take a look at the site to get some pics up in the next few days. Thanks everyone for helping, I am gonna like this site!
