I finally got around to rollin this thing out of the garage today and snapped a few pics of it. pardon the dust/dirt. I havent had a chance to clean it since the rainy trip home from the puddingstone races.
Basically I was going with something different. Everyone has these shiny chrome blinged out boats. I wanted something rough and tough looking with a rat rod vibe. I couldnt be more happy with the way it turned out. A local guy by the name of Zorac did the pin stripping. His work is top notch as you can see from the pics. The lettering is the only thing that was masked and painted with a stencil. All drop shadows and pinstripping is free hand painted.
Huge thanks also to Chromey of Chromeys Concepts for doin the flat black base on it.
Here are a few pics of it while it was being pin stripped.

Remember, this is strictly a race boat. I only spend 15-20 minutes in it at a time.

Looks cool Brad, but refresh my memory. Wasn't it that color when you got it, before you painted it white ? :sly:

no, when I bought it, it was house paint rolled on with a paint roller and it was gray with really crappy blue pinstripping.

heres a vote for SCJB1.
Boat looks tits Brad, thought about doing that with mine but, being mine is strictly a lake/river boat the heat factor came into play so I went the stock/resto route.
-
WOW! What a freaking difference  Looks great Brad.

I think it turned out great!
i was impressed on the material!
so far its race tested...i did my best to keep it covered while i was working on it in the pits ,and keep my oily hands off it....
im just as excited as Brad is!
cheers to you Brad

Great job Chromey and Brad   I thought it came out badass myself
-
Chromey/Brad, so it is shot in epoxy primer? DP90? if so be careful DP has no sunscreens in it and will turn chalky and gray eventually (if you leave it in the sun it will go really fast) But either way the boat is still bitchen 8)
-
That came out awesome Brad! Definately  on the ruff tuff hot rod vibe. That pinstriper has certainly got some skills. You have a runaway success on your hands, now GO WIN SOME RACES DAMMIT!

He is local Terry and does Harleys regularly. Do you want his number?

Chromey/Brad, so it is shot in epoxy primer? DP90?
THE first time it got painted it was shot in apoxy white primer and then cleared.......
this time we painted it with single stage "hot rod black" by advantage products...
the mix was 4-1-1, mixed in a 5.0 voc formula...
the paint sprayed a little on the texturey side ....wasnt quite sure if it was the gun or the material

Oh ok, I have shot that stuff before but not sure if it was from the same manufacturer,my guess is its the material, when I shot the hotrod black I had to reduce the hell out of it for it to wet out otherwise it would look like stucco.Either way it looks tough
