Should I run the engine cover or not???? What are your thoughts

Personally I wouldn't. Especially with it being a new boat. Easier to keep your eye on everything back there. Also with no cover you don't have to worry about people crawling on it. Just my .02

Oh yeah, plus there is too much polish to keep hidden:)

But also a lot of polish to keep clean   I'm torn between  at least it's easy to change back and forth

Polish is a pain, that's why I powdercoated everything haha. Show that baby off!!!
Did you run it this weekend with the cover?

I ran her without the cover for about 2 hours before one of the carbs decided to hand a float and dump fuel all over the intake

Cover is great if you have it hinged with gas supports... once at the sandbar open it up. Having a cover will eliminate a grip of engine noise. Saves your ears and will allow you to chat with people in your boat while cruising. I tried the scoop thing for temporary occasions but still gets messed up even with all the powder coat/polish.

Covered requires you to have Coast Guard approved fuel, ignition, charging, starting components.

You may never have a problem or ever get inspected... but, if there is ever an accident that someone gets hurt, the lawyers will dig into all of that kind of stuff.

Personally, I prefer an open engine area.
