This is the best thread on here!  ;D now maybe I don't have to search the whole damn site looking for pics of these beauties! Here's mine... 1975 Mini, Holman & Moody 460 BBF, Berk and Place diverter. I've been spending every spare minute on her in hopes of being seaworthy by next season!

Just some minor things.  I need to reupholster the seats, remove to floatation foam from the bow, color sand and wax  but that's about it.

Yes I picked it up a few months ago. I'm sure it was the one you saw, I had been watching it for a while wondering why it hadn't sold (the price was high but obviously nobody tried negotiating  >:D). I Wasn't exactly looking for a project this big... But the price was right so I couldn't say no. i love the lines of these boats and the interior seems just roomie enough so you don't feel like you went for a road trip in a Geo Metro after a day on the water!  :o Maybe you guys can give me some insight about how these do on the water? This things a tank... How fast can I expect to go with my mild 460 and A cut impeller? I've also heard they are tricky to maneuver because of the hull shape... Is this true? And are there any specific design flaws I should fix while I have it torn down? (I already replaced the fiberglass tanks). Thanks for any advice you have and hope to see you guys on the water someday!

I want to play too.  My '91 20.5' 454/Berkeley JG-AA.  I don't have any recent pictures on the water as it has been on hold for some family matters, but now making progress.  Once I get a computer online, I will post a build thread.  Shooting for TPM

You got a great hull.  Hallett makes a solid boat that can handle big power.  Actually your's is a better design than mine.  Mine could go either V-drive or jet and lacks the center strakes that your's has.  Your's should develop more lift.

Cheers,

Joe

Yep tearing it apart. It needs a new floor, new interior, and pump work. It will be back better than before and faster :-)

The mini cruiser has always been a great looking hull and there are definitely some nice rides here.  I had to step it up and get into the 21' cruiser for my latest project, don't see as many of these running around.

I always wondered what model Hallet you had. The paint makes it look different from the other minis.
But with these picks it more clear.
Good looking boat.

78 19.5' Sprint 460
 "Natural High"

Bought it from a good friend at Lost Lake (home base) almost two years ago. He was the second owner and he owned it for about 20 years. Dropped the exhaust valve on cylinder 7 last summer and had the motor rebuilt. All new carpet, and a bit of upholstery work. New steering cable. And of course, had to put a stereo and some speakers in it.

We love this boat. It's got character.
