My brother is letting my hold his boat while he moves to the bay. He's letting me drive/pilot it whenever I want, as payment for taking care of it. I know nothing about jet boats, so I'm reading a ton before I ever put it in the water.
I know the engine to be a ~1974 Olds 455 by casting number on the block. Beyond that, he said he believes it's a 1972 Jetstream, but I can't find any kind of information about that.
I'll look everything over very closely when I get home, hopefully find some more identifying marks about the Berkeley pump and what-not.
In the meantime, can anyone identify it here? Not the best pic, but the only one I have at the moment.

To me, it looks like a Tahiti Tiger, but the rear seating is different and the transom 'deck' isn't as long. It looks pretty close to this one (http://www.socaljetboats.com/project-boats/1974-tahiti-tiger-18'-berkeley-jet/) (same seating arrangement), but the gauges are angled a hair towards the driver, the fuel fill is centered in the deck and the ignition is on the left of the wheel.

Post pictures of the exact boat when u get a chance. The more pictures is better. Also check the hin number on the boat ( if it has one you can find) and supply that as well.

The picture that is attached to my previous post is the boat itself, as it's sitting in my driveway.
I know it's not the best view for identifying it, and I will post some more after work, but it's all I have right now and just hoping that someone might recognize something little that I have no clue about.
At the time of that photo, I wasn't thinking there'd be any issue ID'ing it (I was just taking a photo, lol)...only after I started trying did I realize a lot of hulls are very similar and I didn't have any decent photo's.

Here's some more pics. It hasn't been washed in quite a while, quite Sun-damaged as well.
The drive is a 12JB. I cannot locate an HIN anywhere.

Probably because they were just starting to make hin numbers mandatory.

If I had the title, or my brother didn't have it stuffed in a box while he moves, I wouldn't be here asking now would I?
As I said in the original post...He said it's a "72 Jetstream". I can't find any info on any "Jetstream". So I'm here asking, with photo's and any details I can add to make identification easier.
Maybe someone that reads the thread and looks at the pictures could respond? So I don't have to repeat myself a third time...

I went through the USCG manufacturers listing with no luck on anything "jet Stream" related.

The problem with not having a HIN# or name on the Title is that back at that time several different builders might use the same mold or one builder would copy "splash" another hull to make a mold that looked virtually the same with a different name.
At this point having a name of the builder isn't going to make much difference, but the condition of the hull as it sits will make a difference in whether or not you want to try running it. Is there any rot or delamination in the stringers or transom? Is the wood for the upholstery deteriorating? You don't want to hit a wake off of another boat and find yourself in a broken seat or worse yet sinking because the hull cracked because of rotten stringers.

Thanks for the link, info and welcome.
The fiberglass looks good. The seats could be anchored better, the wood is questionable at worst.
Looking more and more, the transom looks to be shaped a lot like a Hawaiian, but those weren't around until the mid-70's and should have an HIN. The hardest thing I'm finding is the fuel tank under the deck and the angled gauges.

It could also be a Hornet. I know my brothers Hornet has the gages like that. But I'm just guessing good luck on the make and welcome

It has the lines of a Hawaiian or Hornet.....drop chine...angled/cornered out gunwals in the rear.....step up around the transom....and I've seen a few Hawaiians that have those angled gauges like that.
this is the back of my liberty...the sides and bottom are identical. Liberties, hawaiians and theres another i cant think of ....were splashes of the hornet.

ralphs old hornet has the gauge pods, but not the same as the ones on your brothers boat..
