The Kinsler jet selector?  It offers the ability to have a few jet sizes up and down for quick tuning changes with just a twist of a knob without having to take anything apart.  I believe it holds 5 main jets.  Do you need it, it is a matter of convenience.

A high speed bypass is entirely something different.

Kinsler stuff is legit, they make some really nice stuff, if that is what you are asking.

Your stuff is no joke too.  Would love to know more about your setup.

The fuel curve is based off of the flow of the pump, which provides more volume than what the engine requires.  The excess fuel is bypassed back to the tank.  The main jet is located in the return line.  Enrichment is achieved by bypassing less fuel to the tank with a smaller jet, therefore more fuel is forced into the engine.  Leaning is the opposite, a larger jet returns more fuel to the tank.

Definitely check out the Kinsler catalog and handbook, a lot of great information.  http://www.kinsler.com/Kinsler-Handbook/HTML/

P.S.  tuning mechanical injection is a fine balancing act between flow and pressure. Jet changes often require a change in nozzles.  A (simplified) example, in my boat, going from Havasu to Tahoe is a 5000' altitude change, requiring a leaner tune.  Simply swapping a larger main jet causes the pressure at the nozzles to drop unacceptably.  A combination of a smaller jet along with smaller nozzles maintains pressure and is a better solution.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Joe

Where did you have the jet selector mounted?  Been struggling with ideas on where to mount mine. Pictures please.

Thanks,

Joe
