Title: Look what I found...
Post by: v-drive video on November 07, 2008, 12:58:11 AM
Does this Sanger v-drive look familiar to anyone in here?

I'm thinking it does!!! 8)

I bought a negative scanner so I can get to at least a thousand more of my old pics.  ;D :screwy:

The boat is an '81 Sanger. I got it from the original owner who picked it up from Sanger in '82. One guy has worked on the motor it's whole life, Phil Stock. Mike Kuhl set up the blower, carbs and pump. It also has a Kuhl timing cover and water pump. I'm not sure who set up the polished Powerglide in it, I think Stock was responsible for that. Since I've owned it I have repainted it, including removing and filling the jet boat shifter and trans cooler dump on the side, both can be seen in the first pic. I've installed a B&M shifter and rerouted the cooler water to the stuffing box. Last year Brock had the blower freshened up by the guy who took over Kuhl's opperation. It had new Rewarder headers on it when I got it. A few detail items I have installed include a new billet battery box w/ Optima Blue top, a new bilge pump and a complete new MSD Promag setup. I also removed the "TowBar" and the belt cover. During paint it got a few new items like gas caps from Tom at JBP and new water pickup hose on the cav plate. Other than that maybe a couple gallons of Mothers polish. The paint I might add is Saphire Blue Cammelian Pearl, $100 an ounce, over black w/ candy blue graphics. We're thinking of calling it ,"Black Pearl". This winter we have plans to paint the trailer candy blue w/ maybe 18's and low pro tires.

one problem with low profile tires are bent rims due to pot holes... 1) there's a bunch of pot holes on roars to our favorite water holes 2) you don't know as much with a trailer when you've hit one 3) damage to the boat can be nasty when the tire let's go.  For guys with lots of cash two sets are good. Dubs for the show, 15" for go.

those tires are prolly only 26-27 inches high, polly about whats on there now. trailer is already slammed. You should see the truck Bro, down two more inches in the front in the morning and in install the new front tires.
