Title: Looking at Buying This Boat...does anyone know any history???
Post by: stillgoin on May 26, 2010, 03:02:32 PM
Does anyone know any history on this boat?  Or have any feedback on this particular make of hull?  Before i hear the comments on why are you asking ajet forum about a whacker, let me say that it has a socaljetboat.com sticker on the trailer.  I currently own a pretty bada$$ (IMO) '79 Challenger with a 496, roller motor etc. jet  and am looking for something that rides a bit better and i can put the little one in.  OT Exhaust is frowned upon by the wife, thinks the kid will be deaf.  All i can say is "What, i can't hear you".  Thanks for any help you can give.

Warlock, if you get a minute to call i would appreciate it.  I know we all drive the piss out of these things.  I am more concerned with wrecks, holes, sinking, etc.  480-241-0487.  I know the seller doesn't know much about it.  gonna send you a PM too.

Was the sticker a rainbow colored "SOCALOUTBOARDS"? I remember seeing something like that around here. Matt

Nope, no rainbow sticker.  But it'd be a whole lot cooler if it did.
Anyway, i own it now.  Thanks for the call Warlock.  Now to figure out how to make it a little faster.  I just dropped about 20mph from my jet.  But the ride is awesome (it's a tank) took the biggest chop of the weekend like it was nothin.  There's enough room to bring more than 2 other people, and it is so quiet all I can hear is wind noise.  I actually had a conversation with someone while running down the lake.  Had a couple buddies take it for a spin, both have whacker motors, one with a 21 Daytona that sets up like a sail when trimmed.  Didn't feel like we were getting close to getting out of the water, pushing water at the rear of the front seats.  I'd be happy with 70.  Right now I ballpark 55-60.  Hard to tell its so smooth.  60 in the jet sounds and feels like 80, 80 in the jet feels like 100.  Need the gps.  So far seems like a good family boat, but dont want a minivan if you know what i mean.
