Title: Looking to buy a 79 hallett
Post by: Chavo78 on February 15, 2014, 07:08:45 PM
Going to check out a 79 hallett jet boat tomorrow.  Never had any experience with a jet and would love to know any tips on things to check out before buying.  It's got a 460.  Been stored for a while,  last registered in 09!  Haven't seen in person yet because it's a couple hour drive but my friend has been checking out for me.  Believe through pics it's a super sport.

I'd just check block/head numbers, type of pump model, pump intake/impeller *make sure it's not all dinged up*, stringers, subfloor.

What's the condition of the boat? Last time in the water? Running?
Need more info for better advice

It turns out it is a 78 so a year older.  I bought it for 2k.  Hull, paint, interior were all in excellent condition.  Well floor is gonna have to be replaced cause the would is shot.  Believe the fuel pump is out but engine fired right up when fuel poured into Carburetor.  Haven't got a chance to work on it yet because of work.

Damn phone, I meant wood not would.  Anyone have any pointers on replacing the flooring?  I've seen it done but have never done it myself.
