Title: Mid Life Crisis
Post by: muffbro on November 30, 2012, 12:50:12 PM
Grew up in So-Cal   spent my summers at the River... Lake Mead...Havasu...Copper Canyon...BHC. I   have lived in Northeast Mississippi for the past 13 years.

This past June I had  enough and drove to Earp and bought this 1985 Bahner - 19' 11"  -  454  - Berkley.

I feel better now

Good work there dealing with a crisis situation. Looks like a nice river boat that will handle some lake chop.

a little further down the road on the winter project....new valve covers ...gaskets...exhaust studs....a little polish on the snails and logs......theres a slight water leak on the intake manifold so its coming off too....i guess now that I have cleaned up the logs, I'll hit the manifold too with some elbow grease.... the dist. too.... new remote oil filter set up coming, the rebuild kit for the carb is in as well as the new fuel log. Water lines to be replaced as well. My only wish was I had a  heated space to work on it....yesterday AM temp: 21 degrees..

I'm a SOCAL transplant too. Moved to Winchester, Tn about 8 years ago.
Tired of the 1 hour long drives to get 5 miles  ;D

Where you planning on doing most of your boating at?

I actually just got a 21 Carrera shipped in from Lakeside, CA about a month and half ago. My first boat.

I Live on Tims Ford Lake.

I usually go to Bay Springs Lake which is part of the Tenn - Tom waterway near Corinth Ms or Little Bear Creek just East of Red Bay Alabama.

I have also been up to Table Rock Lake near Branson  Mo.... I also have a small lake about 15 minutes from my house I sometime hit after work....

I have heard of Tim's  Ford.... It looks like a fine lake with lots of shoreline....coves etc.   maybe I'll have to an a trip up there and check it out!

Yeah, pretty nice lake. Not too crowded. A bunch of cool coves. Be good to invest in a map of the lake.

If you do make a trip up this way PM me and we'll try to get together. Maybe I can show you around a little.

I got a motor upgrade to handle right now, but should be good by about middle of April.

I have several 'float'  projects I am working on as well......I'm looking at hitting the water around the same time. I just might have to take a run up there this summer and check it out.... I like going to different places.....if so, I will let you know.

Thx for the invite.......
