400ci Pontiac with h-beam rods, roller rockers and 11:1 compression (or so the guy I got it from said lol)... New interior and carpet... Still need to clean up a few things but am pretty happy with it... Should run pretty good

It currently has straight hose connected from the logs to the TT exhaust tips so I need to find a set of snails or would like to switch to OT headers but can't find any for a 400 Pontiac... When the previous owner had the interior redone he didn't replace the divider between the engine and rear seats so I'd like to add one... I also need to run all the water lines and just get it on the water and see how it does, Then I'll start getting cosmetic stuff...

Not sure, but isn't Pontiac Oldsmobile..... Or something of that GM family. Might want to research your heads a little an maybe some 455 olds headers would work... Dunno just a thought ? OT olds headers seem to be dime a dozen.

From everything I can find and when I asked the knowledgable guy at the speed shop he confirmed they are not like any other gm's... I can get a header flange and then have a set made but not sure if I want to spend that much right now... Thinking of selling the engine (as some Pontiac nut might just go ape shit for a built 400) and then turn around and drop a 454 in it...

Can anyone give me any info about this hull? Is it good? Is there anything I need to look for/change? After ready some posts people have referred to a Rogers Bonneville, is that what I have? Didn't (and still don't) know anything about it but it seemed like it was in good condition and I got a smoking deal on it

Another option you have if you have existing logs would be to install over transom pipes directly to the logs. Not quite headers, but better than snails.

Found a guy on CL selling a set of the OT single pipes I think I'm going to try to get for now... What are everybody's thoughts about hooking up the water lines?? Is it better to go thru the engine 1st then thru the logs or the logs 1st? I'm getting mixed opinions and would like as much input as I can get. I don't really like the idea of putting hot water thru the engine and then expect it to try to cool... Everybody's 2¢ is welcomed

I ran my Hondo for many years with logs and OT pipes, and had the water running through the logs first to kind of preheat the water in the block. Never had an overheating problem, it normally stayed between 140-160 all the time.

Pump then logs then tails. The logs will preheat the water a small amount to keep the motor running at a more consistent temperature. You will probably see 140 or so at idle and 100-120 at speed. Cold water will help prevent the logs from warping and cracking and the warmer water will help the motor run more efficient and your tune up will be more consistent.

Unfortunately the OT pipes on CL I found have a 4 bolt flange and my retarded Nicson logs have a 3 bolt flange so back to the drawing board
