Nice Ride, always liked Kona's. Sounds like a fair deal, you sure cant buy one and rebuild it for that.

you do if you want to throw up a tail (or for practical purposes, it can help pulling up a skier)

also helps in getting rid of nats (jet ski's)
-
LOL nats thats funny. Never heard em called that before. I'm not real big on the rooster tail it wasn't a must have item for me anyway. If I find a good deal on one I might pick one up. And jet skis really don't bother me anyway.

Saturday was just as eventful as friday....
Rod offers Kate and I a ride in the High Life (which was lookin pretty snazzy I must say)....we headed up river and no joke....we hit a waverunner....guy wasnt paying attention and he saw us at the last second and cuts hard and drenched us as he bounced off the bow....he had a 8 year old kid on the back. He didnt stop...made a B line for up river full speed....full hit and run. Angry slight scuff to the front of the highlife (very minor)....and we were all ok....we took off up river lookin for him and he was long gone.

Yes there are always stupid people doing stupid things. While unfortunate, I will share a story myself. In 2005, a mini van loaded with kids pulled out directly in front of one of my friends. They were riding bikes. Maybe she was having a bad day, maybe the kids distracted her, maybe she should not of been driving at all due to bad eyesight. While this may not sound bad, my friend was killed. I wasn't there I had moved to NY. He and a group of guys we ride with were heading down to Wilmington. If I had been there I more than likely would have been riding along. I was very upset as you can imagine, but I really sat down and thought about it. Who should I be mad at? Motorala for manufacturing the cell phone she was on? Or Chrysler for making that particular van? Or her kids for distracting her? Or women because they are shitty drivers and don't pay attention? Or myself for not being there? The answer I came up with was none of the above. So do to one asshole, I cannot say that I now hate all jet ski's. It's just not my nature. Not to put a damper on things, but its just a different point of view. I received the same kind of treatment when I was riding my bike. I didn't stunt, I just liked to ride. It's amazing how many times I got pulled over to " check the license and registration ". One time, we were riding in a group (cops love to stop the group) cop pulled us over and didn't run my stuff. Said he knew my bike. How's that for profiling, when you get pulled over and they know your clean cuz they stopped your ass 6 days ago.

Well said . . .
Shhhh don't tell anyone here I said so. They are lake lice after all. ;)
-
morons tried to ride under my rooster at Pyramid lake. First guy made it under with what seemed to be a massive headache as he stopped and was holding his head after making it through.
Second guy I just so happened to be dropping the diverter right as he went through and see ya...

That weekend the nats were everywhere, at least 75% of them not looking where they were going - especially when turning. Nothing better than trying to launch or load your sh!t up when there is 10 jet ski's doing circles in front of the ramp in heavy, choppy, river current.
The riders are having so much fun they get "stuck" in their own little world and forget everything else. Almost everyone that weekend complained at one time or another about the jet ski's. But that weekend was a lot of fun.
-
If you look in my ice chest and see any Bud Light, you can be sure it is there only to throw at a jet skier who won't stay off my azz. >:D

Keeping this in mind ...
when writing this..

Don't judge all law-enforcement by a few jerks; what you describe is/was good police work.
BTW, been riding motorcycle for 30+ years; seen a lot; even had a cop pull gun on me once; 3:30am in an alley; I got off, opened my seat, heard FREEZE, looked to see him behind his car door with gun pointed at me.
I was getting my wallet which I kept under the seat; he had no idea what I was going for; I would've done the same thing; we ended with a laugh and NO ticket. Besides, I was packing at the time (legally) but that never came up.

I dont care much for jet skis!
-
SWEEEEET. Enjoy you new toy!! ;D
-
I most certainly will. And I hold no anomosity (sp) towards the law. I've been very fortunate to get good cops whenever I get pulled over. As long as you talk to them with respect they usually treat you the same. It's just fustrating sometimes because they target sport bikes over cruisers.

Thats because 95% of the cruisers arent doing 120, pulling weelies from light to light and racing every vette they find!
I just got rid of a 73 Harley and I have owned a GSX-R 750, seen both sides!
-
I mean cmon, its more like 99% of the cruisers aren't doing 120 and pulling wheelies. But I understand the point. Just annoying is all I'm saying. Same thing on the water, I'm sure someone is going to hassle me for the pipes being too loud, even though they aren't.

Very nice.. 8)
