Dude, all the problems you are having! Geeze! Sounds like i'm not alone! I finally got mine to work after cursing at it for 6 months. Two motors, fuel pump, re-wire and a bad tank of gas later it's all good. Don't give up buddy. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Loved the build! Can't wait to hear the story of a great weekend!   

Pop the valve covers. From what u r saying ur  top end may be dry...Prime oil system  make sure u get oil outa every pushrod etc.

you were right Dave looks like the cam kit I bought had the wrong lifters in it and thus the wrong ones in the motor from day 1

finally got some time to work on the boat today.polished and installed my new scoop (no more dusty sailin for me Glenn) Then put 4 degees of wedge in and put the jet all back together. Also found the wiring problem in the trailer lights .then continued onn with what is becoming rather a large task,Installing the thru transom headers from Mark, So far we have had to cut the flanges off the tips to get the right angle for the transom also redrill the transom holes bigger and move them down and out as much as possible.move both battery boxes and we are going to have to shorten the tips on the inside and try to get a bendable hose I'm starting to wonder if this will be worth it

got my tips rewelded at the new angle to match the transom. headers installed now on to plumbing

make sure the ball valve is closing.  When I first installed mine I could lightly shake the valve and hear the ball rattle.  I ended up installing a stainless washer in the valve to act as a shim for the ball/spring.

I know some people that will be there on those dates.(rivertard).
